Pajama Party

Yesterday, our Halloween Pajama & Costume Party Linkup officially started!  To kick off the party, I shared Noah's three (yes 3!!!) costumes that he will be dressing up in this Halloween.  While Noah has three costumes this year, his pajama selection isn't as extensive this year.  Right now, Noah's in that weird size.  In regular clothes, he's wearing either a 5T in toddler or an XS in the big kid section. But when it comes to pajamas, he always needs to go up at least one size for them to fit comfortably.  So that means we are now officially in the big kid section when it comes to pajamas.  Unfortunately, that means less of the fitted sets Noah has grown to love and the Halloween pairs I found tended to be on the scarier side (and Noah isn't really a fan of the scary).  The only pajamas that we still love for his size are Hanna Andersson pajamas.  But since they are on the pricier side, I prefer to buy pairs that he can wear year round rather than just 4-6 weeks out of the year.  So this year I got a little creative...

First up, Noah is going through a huge super hero phase right now, as evidenced by his costume choices!  So I decided to keep that trend going and get him this pair of Batman pajamas.  And I figured since Noah's dressing up as superheroes for Halloween, why couldn't these be considered Halloween pajamas too ;)

Batman pajamas

This next pair of pajamas is an even bigger stretch at being considered "Halloween pajamas".  Another current obsession for Noah is camo.  And while camo has become a huge part of Noah's daily wardrobe, for some reason I still think of it as dressing up.  Like he's dressing up as a soldier or a hunter.  So if you go with that premise, than these pajamas are sort of like dress up, which is what Halloween is all about.  Or I'm just a crazy person who didn't get my child Halloween pajamas and now I'm just making up stuff to feel better.  You can be the judge ;)  Nevertheless, I love these pajamas and I'm excited for Noah to wear them all winter long!

And yes, I let Noah wear his pajamas out in public to go on our neighborhood walk!
The camo pajamas are also Hanna Andersson, but no longer online.

Noah is either upset that I didn't buy him real Halloween pajamas or he is just tired of me taking photos of him.  Trust me when I say that it's because of the latter!

But in honor of Rewind Friday, I thought I would go back to a time when Noah actually had a few pair of Halloween pajamas to wear throughout October!

last year's Pajama Party linkup

And since I shared Noah's costumes yesterday and can't turn down a good throwback, here are some photos of Noah dressed up for past Halloweens!  Noah's first Halloween was just 2 days shy of turning 1, and he was the cutest pumpkin in the patch.  For his second Halloween, he was a heroic fire fighter.  And finally, last year Noah was an astronaut.  In the past, I would look through the Pottery Barn Kids catalog and let Noah "help" me pick out his costume.  This was the first year that Noah had real ideas and opinions on his costume, hence the switch from PBKids to Party City ;)

Now it’s your turn to link up some of your favorite overlooked posts for the last time. Yes, you read that right... Beth, Whitney, Stephanie and I have decided that it's time for the Rewind Friday linkup to end. We've had fun revisiting our old posts and reading yours, but all good things must come to an end. And to those of you who have faithfully linked up, THANK YOU!

Trunk or Treat Inspiration | Rewind Friday

Since tomorrow is October, I can't help but turn my attention to Halloween.  I don't know about you, but around here, Trunk or Treats are becoming more popular, especially with the younger kids.  It's a safer alternative to the traditional trick or treating and is often hosted by local churches.  The church where Noah goes to school hosts one every year and I'm debating whether to volunteer again this year to decorate my trunk and hand out candy.  Today I'm sharing all about last year's Halloween and our decorated trunk.  If you will be decorating your trunk this year, hopefully it will give you some inspiration.  And if you have no clue what a Trunk or Treat is, you can learn a little more about it!

And since this is our fifth Rewind Friday, I'd love to read some of your older posts too! In case you missed it, Beth, Whitney, Stephanie and I are hosting this new linkup as a way to share your favorite overlooked content. As a blogger, we are constantly creating and sharing content that we are proud of, and that we've often put a ton of time and effort into. Sometimes a post that we love and worked really hard to put together doesn't get the kind of attention (comments, visits, shares, pins, what have you) that we think it deserves. Now's your chance to get some new eyes on these posts! So grab my Rewind Friday button and link up some of your favorite overlooked posts!  #RewindFridayParty

Fall Favorites | Rewind Friday

While it's still hot here and we have 11 days until school starts, I can't help but get excited for Fall!  I'm ready for some cooler weather, watching the season change while going on long walks, and spending weekends at the farm and fall festivals!  It will be a couple more weeks until we can do these fun activities here, so in the meantime I will reminisce by reading some of my fall themed posts from last year...

And since this is our fourth Rewind Friday, I'd love to read some of your older posts too! Summer Crafts | Rewind Friday

This summer is really flying by!  I can't believe that Monday will be a new month!  I also can't believe we are already doing our third Rewind Friday! In case you missed it, Beth, Whitney, Stephanie and I are hosting this new linkup as a way to share your favorite overlooked content. As a blogger, we are constantly creating and sharing content that we are proud of, and that we've often put a ton of time and effort into. As Noah's getting older, while he still absolutely loves to do crafts, he is a little more opinionated in what we do and often prefers doing "free art time".  As a result, I don't have as many organized crafts to share as I did last summer.  Since I'm sure I have a lot of new readers who weren't following along last year, I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite crafts from the Summer of 2015!

Now for the fun part... when we feature the bloggers with the most clicked links.  Here is the Spotlight Post for June!    Make sure you link up this month for the chance to be showcased next month!

Rewind Friday | Home Tour

Happy Friday!  Chris took the day off and we are off galavanting!  While Chris doesn't like taking full weeks off (he feels he misses too much), he loves taking many Fridays off in the Summer.  And we don't mind one bit!  Speaking of Fridays... next week, I will be helping some of my favorite blogger friends host a fun and patriotic link up.  I don't know about you, but I love any excuse to dress Noah up for whatever the current holiday is.  Needless to say, Noah will be wearing a lot of red, white, and blue over the next two weeks.  And I know I can't be alone, so why not photograph your child in their all-american best and link up with us for the 2nd Annual Star Spangled Kids Link-up!!!  You can also share your patriotic photos on Instagram with the tag #StarSpangledKids.

While you are daydreaming about red, white, and blue, why not stick around for (and link up with) our second Rewind Friday! In case you missed it, Beth, Whitney, Stephanie and I are hosting this new linkup as a way to share your favorite overlooked content. As a blogger, we are constantly creating and sharing content that we are proud of, and that we've often put a ton of time and effort into. Yesterday marked our 2 year anniversary of closing on our first ever house!  Some days it feels like we just moved in while other times it feels like we've been here forever.  When we first moved in, I was sharing room tours as I "finished" them.  While I should never say any room is really finished, they were complete enough to photograph and share.  I love looking back at these photos for many reasons.  Not only were the rooms super clean, but I'm also amazed at how so many of them have already changed (in little and big ways)!  These photos are reminding me that it may be time to share an update on each of the rooms.

Now for the fun part... Last month we mentioned that we will feature the bloggers with the most clicked links.  Here is the Spotlight Post for May!    Make sure you link up this month for the chance to be showcased next month!

Rewind Friday - Travel Throwbacks

Happy Friday!  We should have been on our way to spend the long holiday weekend in Canada.  I was so excited to spend the 4 day weekend in Montreal, but then Noah got sick earlier this week.  What started as a one day mild fever, turned out to be the coxsackie virus (hand foot and mouth), resulting in us being home all week as to not infect anyone else.  While there's a chance he is no longer contagious, we didn't want to take any chances.  I also wasn't in the mood for the stares from strangers because of the bumps he has on his face.  So instead we will be spending the holiday weekend at home.

Today, however, is our first ever Rewind Friday link-up! In case you missed it, Beth, Whitney, Stephanie and I are hosting this new linkup as a way to share your favorite overlooked content. As a blogger, we are constantly creating and sharing content that we are proud of, and that we've often put a ton of time and effort into. When I originally planned this post, I thought it would be fitting to share some of my favorite travel posts, since I would have been on my way to Montreal.  While that isn't happening anymore, I still thought it would be fun to reminisce, and maybe even live vicariously through some of my favorite past vacations.

Turks & Caicos - March 2016 (our most recent family vacation)

I am a huge fan of taking a tropical vacation in the winter months.  I loved the Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos and would love to go back again! I shared everything from what we did, ate, what I wore, some traveling tips, and things I didn't expect to happen!

Miami, Florida - February 2014

This was our first vacation with Noah and his first flight!  We had an absolute blast and this is when I realized we could actually travel with Noah!

Miami - Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4

Baltimore, Maryland - April 2015

We went for a long weekend to Baltimore.  While we had a lot of fun, we were also there for the riots, which was kind of scary!  I also shared some more traveling tips, because you can never be too prepared when traveling with kids!

Baltimore - Day 1, Day 2, Day 3

Beach with the family - Narragansett, Rhode Island & Long Beach Island, New Jersey

Each summer, we try to go to the beach with our families.  My family goes up to Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island since that's where my older brother and his family live.  Chris' family goes down to LBI for a week, so we usually try to go down for 1 or 2 days with them as well.

Narragansett Beach - 2015, 2014, 2013
LBI -  2015, 2013

California - September 2011 (pre-Noah)

For our first anniversary, Chris and I went to California.  We started in San Francisco, drove down the PCH, and ended in LA.  It was a wonderful trip that I hope to do again with Noah one day!  It's kind of funny to look back at how we traveled without kids ;)

Italy - September 2010 (our Honeymoon)

Chris and I went to Italy for almost two weeks as our honeymoon.  This was my third time in Italy and Chris' first.  We made sure to hit all the typical tourist cities and sites.  If we ever get back (which I hope we do) I'd like to spend more time in Tuscany and head to Cinque Terre.

So there you have it... A mix of new and older posts.   I can really see how this blog has grown over the past 6 years!  I can't wait to see what posts you link up! And don't forget... Each month we will feature the bloggers with the most clicked links, perpetuating even more views. Win win!

Here are the dates of our future link ups!
June 24th | July 29th | August 26th | September 30th
October 28th | November 25th | December 30th
