Mama and Noah Currently | February 2017

February was a short and kind of strange month.  The weather was all over the place... 60 degrees one day only to have a few inches of snow the next.  I literally can't keep up!  Here's hoping March brings us some more mild springlike days!

This is what we've been up to in February 2017...

Eating

I had planned to tell you about Costco's Vegetable Taquitos.  We discovered them on the Saturday before Super Bowl, when they were offering samples.  I dip them in guacamole and they make the perfect quick weeknight dinner!  I was hoping to buy another package, but just 3 weeks later and they no longer carry them!  I really hope they bring them back ASAP!

Noah is a lover of popsicles.  We recently picked up the Outshine Fruit and Vegetable kind and I've even started having a popsicle with him in the afternoons.  He loves the cherry and blueberry kind while I prefer the strawberry and lemon.

Watching

We've had Amazon Prime for a while, but never utilized to it's full advantage.  Earlier this month, I decided to look into what movies were free for Prime members.  I found Age of Adaline and loved it... even though I couldn't talk Chris into watching it with me.

We took Noah to see the Batman Lego movie the weekend it came out.  We got our tickets 2 weeks ahead of time for the 10 am showing and I love that you can pick your own seats now!  Noah was so excited, that was until we got to the theater and he remembered being scared by one of the previews when we went to see Sing with his cousins.  He all of a sudden got anxious, first saying that he didn't want to go in until the movie started and even suggested going home all together.  I stayed out with him in the hall until the movie started, and thankfully that did the trick and he really enjoyed the movie.

Wearing

Pink lipstick (Smitten) and gloss (Kissyfit).   I find wearing a bright lip is really brightening up Winter (and my mood) as I wait for the warmer weather to arrive (and stay!).

Shoes that are too small!  This kid seemed to grow over night.  Everyone we run into comments about his height change, and I'm not surprised at all since he was complaining about growing pains.  Well I guess his feet grew too, because all of a sudden he was taking his shoes off in the car and complaining that his feet hurt.  And of course physical shoe stores for kids are rare these days and it doesn't help that Noah has extra wide feet, wears a size 12 now, but still needs velcro!  It took us two orders, but we finally found some new shoes that fit him... thank goodness!

Listening to

I was first introduced to Maren Morris when watching the Grammy's a few weeks ago.  I loved her performance with Alicia Keys and immediately bought her new album.  It's been on repeat since then.

The ABC song while I brush his teeth.  I learned that they sing this while washing their hands to make sure they do it long enough, so I thought it would work for teeth brushing too.  The only problem is Noah can't help "dancing" along and it's hard to keep him still ;)

Making

We've been making a new baked good each week.  This month we made banana bread, chocolate chip muffins, oatmeal cookies, and just this last week we made our apple zucchini muffins.  And I'm loving this cake stand that Chris got me for Valentine's Day!

Noah is constantly doing something artsy.  Whether it's drawing a picture with crayons, painting on his easel, or gluing and cutting, he loves being creative.

Mama and Noah Currently | January 2017

Today is the last day of January, so I thought it would be fitting to end it by sharing some things that we were doing and loving the last 30 days!

This is what we've been up to in January 2017...

Eating

PB&J English Muffins - Noah jokes that I have this every day for breakfast, and it's kind of true!

Lunch at school - Noah's preschool just offered "Lunch Bunch" where they can stay an extra 45 minutes and eat lunch at school.  I'm getting the hang of putting together a lunch and Noah loved the notes Chris and I left for him :)

Watching

The Good Place - Please someone tell me they watch this too... I'd love to talk about it!!!  They had a shorter first season that just ended this month.  It's a quirky comedy but I couldn't help but laugh each week and really looked forward to a new episode each week.

The Lego Movie - in preparation of the Batman Lego Movie coming out next month, we watched the original Lego Movie at home last week.  While a lot of it went over his head, I love that both Noah and I can enjoy this movie.

Wearing

Sweatpants - when it's cold out and all we have on the schedule is dropping Noah off at school and then cleaning, purging, or organizing the house, I really can't find motivation to wear anything other than sweats!

Superhero shirts with capes - Noah loves wearing his Superman and Batman shirts complete with his velcro cape!  Here are the new short sleeve versions!

Listening to

Recently I've started putting the TV music channel on.  I find that Noah asks for a TV show less often when we do this.   So far I'm loving Ed Sheeran's new song, "Shape of You"

And Noah stops whatever he's doing whenever "I Can Make Your Hands Clap" and Ariana Grande's "Side to Side" comes on :)

Obsessed with

Purging!  Last week I shared how I organize Noah's toys.  In addition to organizing all the rooms, I've also been throwing out and donating a ton!  We had over 15 bags/boxes donated in January!

Playing knights!  Noah got this inflatable shield this summer and just recently he's become obsessed with it again (the sword unfortunately popped months ago).  Noah and Chris will put on knight demonstrations for me.  Noah will come in the room and say that the "blue knight" will be doing some kicks while the "red knight" blocks them with the shield.  These shows are always very entertaining ;)

Mama and Noah Currently | December 2016

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  We had such a wonderful time that I have so many photos to go through before I can do a Christmas recap on the blog.  I'm hoping to get some time today so I can share some with you tomorrow.  In the meantime, I'm going to a do a currently post instead.  In 2015, I did a monthly currently post where I would share what both Noah and myself were up to each month.  While I switched up the format a bit this year, I've started to really miss these posts.  So here we go!

This is what we've been up to in December 2016...

Making

cookies, scones, and muffins! | art masterpieces

Listening to

O Come Let Us Adore - my favorites are O Holy Night, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Jingle Bells (1 minute in) | The Chipmunk Song

Eating

Boom Chicka Popcorn - if only I could stop at the suggested serving size and not eat the whole bag! Popsicles - no matter how cold it is, he wants one!

Watching

This Is Us - I'm officially obsessed, just like everyone else who watches!
Jake and the Never Land Pirates - Noah used to love this show but took a little break. Recently he's started to go back to some of his old favorites.

Wearing

riding boots | camo, camo, camo!

Loving

Chris being home more this month (he was home from work 14 days in December, and it was amazing!) | Advent calendar, like this Lego one

Currently | September 2016

I love "currently" posts because I love documenting what's going on at the moment.  I'm a huge fan of making digital scrapbooks (both for our family and for Noah) as well as using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts.  I've been doing "currently" posts for a while now, but changed up the format at the beginning of the year.  Here's what I've been up to in September...

Cooking/Baking:   I'm happy to say that I've been cooking more and back into meal planning.  While Chris still works late many nights, I'm back to making dinners that can be reheated easily.  I've also been baking more this month... breads and muffins are my favorite!

Eating: Chipotle... might as well with the "Kids Eat Free" on Sundays in September!

Smelling: Fall candles burning!  I absolutely love the smell filling the house!

dishtowel and candle (Target)

Wanting: this wide angle lens.  I think it would be great for when I photograph my home decor.  I also think it would be handy when photographing in small rooms where I can't back up far enough.

Looking:  for birthday gifts for Noah.  I am personally leaning towards gifts that have a learning aspect to them since he has so many "toys" already.  What do your 4 year olds love???

Loving: The cooler weather!  I'm loving that it's chilly in the mornings and evenings and rather pleasant during the days.  I sure hope we get a long "fall" this year!

Enjoying:  Our afternoons spent outside.  We have gotten into the routine of taking afternoon walks around the neighborhood with Noah in the stroller.  And Noah rides his bike either around the cul-de-sac or to the playground before or after our walk.  Noah just got a new bike.  He's still getting used to riding a real bike versus his big wheel, but he's doing great.

Hoping:  we have a long Fall and a mild Winter.  I really love spending time outside!

Needing:    I was going to say I needed to buy some mums to decorate the porch, but I ended up doing that yesterday!  I can officially say that we are ready for Fall!

Wishing: my bathrooms would clean themselves.  Is there really more explanation needed?

Drinking: anything but a PSL.  While I love Fall, I just am not a fan of PSLs.  First off, I don't like coffee, and while I'm starting to enjoy more pumpkin flavored things, it's not my favorite flavor by any means!

Feeling: bless and lucky that Noah is healthy!  September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month and it breaks my heart whenever I hear about kids being sick!  I learned about this awesome idea from a fellow blogger and immediately knew I wanted to help out.

Brittany, who blogs at Just Another Day in Paradise, has a neighbor who lost their little boy, Noah, last June to pediatric cancer. But before he went to heaven, he sure left his mark on the world by starting something called Noah's Bandage Project. Here's a quick background... at the young age of 6, while going through his own treatment, he quickly realized how un-cool it was to just have the boring skin colored bandages all over his body with all the pricks and pokes that comes with treatment for pediatric cancer. If he felt that way, he knew other kids did too. He started a drive to collect fun bandaids (that all our kids love) and distributed them to other kids at Children's Mercy Hospital in downtown Kansas City. What started as a small drive, turned into something much bigger. The KC Royal's got involved, the KC news, etc. While he did end up passing away in June 2015, his family and friends are working hard to ensure this amazing project lives on.

So Noah and I stopped by the bandaid aisle during our latest Target run.  I explained to Noah that there are some kids who are very sick and have to get needles a lot. Considering how much he loves his character bandaids, I asked him if he thought other kids would like to have fun bandaids over the regular plain kind.  He of course agreed and helped me pick out a few boxes... some he thought boys would like and some for the girls too :)

If you'd like to donate some fun bandaids, you can send them to the following address...
Noah's Bandage Project
119 N Parker Street Suite 110
Olathe, KS 66061

Planning:  Noah's 4th Birthday Party!  We have the place booked and invitations have been sent out. Since we are having it outside the home where they take care of almost everything, I just need to make a trip to Party City and get all the paper products and decorations.  While Pinterest parties are fun, after having Noah's party outside the house last year, I've decided this is the way to go!

Wearing:  lace up flats

Watching: Fall television!  I love this time of year when all the shows come back and there are some new ones to check out.  A few of my summer season shows had their finales... like Rizzoli and Isles and Big Brother!

Listening to: Young House Love Has A Podcast!  I love their blog so it's no surprise I love their podcast too!

Reading:  My goodness, I just can't get back into the groove of reading for myself!  But the good news is we've been reading more at night with Noah.  We've been reading some new Halloween books and loving them.  Every night, Noah picks out 3 books... one that I read, one for Chris to read, and one for him to read.  And no, Noah can't read yet (wouldn't that be crazy), but he has memorized Brown Bear, Brown Bear... so we read it every single night :)

Currently | August 2016

I love "currently" posts because I love documenting what's going on at the moment.  I'm a huge fan of making digital scrapbooks (both for our family and for Noah) as well as using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts.  I've been doing "currently" posts for a while now, but recently changed up the format.  Here's what I've been up to in August...

Cooking: The same things over and over!  I have definitely entered a food rut.  While Noah is a fan of some pretty healthy food, the variety is extremely lacking!  And with Chris working late most nights, I've lost the motivation to try new recipes.  So instead, I've been making the meals that I know we both love and that heat up well later that night (for Chris) or the next day.  I hope to get back into my meal planning groove this fall!

Eating: pancakes.  This is a relatively new one for us.  This summer, Noah decided he's a fan of pancakes (no butter or syrup for him).  We had them at a friend's house and he's loved them ever since.  I bought the huge bag of Krusteaz pancake mix at Costco where you just add water.  My friend even inspired me to try making Mickey Mouse pancakes, and while I'm no expert, Noah is impressed ;)

Wanting: some new running shoes.  While I have a few pair of fashion sneakers, I haven't purchased legit running shoes in a long time (I'm thinking at least 5 years).  This fall, I want to get into the routine of walking for exercise and think it's time to get a new pair.

Looking:  forward to cooler weather and all things Fall.  Don't get me wrong, I love Summer.  But they are called seasons for a reason and I'm ready for a change.  The pool and beach are great, but I want to do some outside activities that don't require being near a body of water to stay cool.

Loving: our pool membership.  Speaking of bodies of water, I've really loved spending the last month at the pool.  I grew up at the pool and I'm so glad Noah seems to like it too.  He's become such a fish this summer and I think this is the first summer in a long time that I've actually swam in the pool rather than just taken a dip to cool off.

Enjoying:  Our lazy mornings and snuggles in bed.  We co-sleep, so Noah and I wake up in the same bed.  We love taking our time, snuggling while talking about what we are going to do that day.  I will definitely missed these mornings where we aren't rushed to be somewhere.

Hoping:  Noah will love his teacher and enjoy school as much as he did last year!  I'm pretty sure he will, but I'm a mom, so I tend to worry ;)

Needing:  to exercise more.  I went for a 2 mile walk the other day when the temps were in the high 70s (a rarity recently).  While I did fine, going up the hill with the stroller was harder than I expected and I was tired afterwards.

Wishing: I could go on a Fall shopping spree.  I love to shop and there are so many cute things out there that I could easily go crazy!  Wouldn't it be nice to shop without worrying about how much things cost???

Feeling: thankful that Noah is such an easy kid.  Of course he has his moments, but in the grand scheme of things, he's a really good kid.  The older he gets, the more fun he is.  I feel blessed to be able to spend my days with him and go on all these little adventures!

Drinking: sangria.  This is kind of misleading since I haven't had much all this month, but I did enjoy a few glasses this weekend, and it was wonderful!

Planning:  Fall activities... stay tuned for a bucket list of sorts :)

Debating: how to spend my time while Noah's in school.  This year I will get 3 mornings a week instead of 2 and I can't decide whether to spend it doing blog stuff, running errands, or adding exercise to my routine.

Wearing:  swimsuits and goggles.  Since we spent the majority of our time at the pool, I rarely did my hair this month and kept things pretty casual!

Watching: the Olympics... like everyone else in the world!  My favorite events were swimming, diving, and gymnastics!

Listening to: Chris and Noah play at night while I'm in my office.  Since I spend my days with Noah and Chris gets home kind of late, I like to give them some alone time before Noah goes to bed.  It's pretty amusing listening to them play.  I especially love to hear Noah laugh!

Reading:  Embarrassed to say that I haven't been reading much more than blogs this last month.  I've really been slacking!

What have you been up to this month?

Currently | July 2016

I love "currently" posts because I love documenting what's going on at the moment.  I'm a huge fan of making digital scrapbooks (both for our family and for Noah) as well as using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts.  I've been doing "currently" posts for a while now, but recently changed up the format.  Here's what I've been up to in July...

Cooking Baking: Banana bread.  Noah loves to help me bake.  He used to only want to make our apple zucchini muffins and wasn't a fan of banana bread.  But then one day he did a 180 and now he loves it and requests me make it all the time!

Eating: too much ;)  I feel like I've gotten into the bad habit of snacking on unhealthy things in the afternoon with Noah.  From chocolate covered almonds to Swedish Fish, I need to cut back on the sweets!

Wanting: These earrings and pants.

Looking:  for an anniversary gift for Chris... any ideas for 6 years???

Loving: my waterproof camera.  Now that Noah is a little fish and going underwater non stop at the pool, I love being able to take photos and videos of him swimming.  I've had so many people comment on how cool the camera is whenever we are at the pool :)

Enjoying:  Noah's company.  I really do enjoy having Noah home over the summer.  While I know he misses school and is excited to go back, it's really fun to be able to plan lots of day trips as well as a few lazy days at home.   While I'm enjoying it, it doesn't mean I don't have a super long list of the things I plan to do when he goes back to school this fall ;)

Hoping:  for good weather for our upcoming RI beach trip!  We've had so much fun the past three years (2015, 2014, 2013) and can't wait to do it again next week!

Needing:  to take more walks, which means I need some cooler weather either in the morning or evening!   Or I just need to make less excuses ;)

Wishing: Chris could take more days off in the summer so we can enjoy the beach, pool, Sesame place, etc as a family when it isn't so crowded!

Feeling: behind.  I'm struggling to stay on top of reading, my blog, reading other blogs, participating in my FB groups, doing my scrapbooks... the list goes on and on!

Drinking: too much Diet Coke.  And I just realized this was my answer back in March too!

Planning:  to spend August at the pool!   We just got an "August membership" for our town pool and I'm so excited!

Wearing:  these leather slides.  I feel like every summer there's a shoe/sandal that I love so much that I end up wearing them with everything.  These slides from Old Navy are so comfortable and easy to slide on as I'm running out the door.  I wear them with shorts, dresses, and even to the pool and beach!  I should have bought a few pairs!

Watching: Big Brother, Pretty Little Liars, and Fixer Upper.  Chris got me into Big Brother a few years ago and now I really look forward to it every summer!  I've been a PLL fan since it started and just can't get enough!  And as for Fixer Upper, I just started watching it.  I can't believe it took me so long to get into it.  I got a Season's Pass on my TiVo and whenever I have some downtime I watch an episode or two.  I'm kind of bummed that I don't have any left on my saved shows!  The best part is when Noah was in camp and he asked me what I was going to do while he was gone, he told me I should watch one of my shows, and specifically told me to watch Big Brother and Fixer Upper!

Listening to: lots of songs, trying to decide what songs to use for all the home videos I plan to make!  Now I just need to find the time to actually make the videos!

Reading:  Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty.   I've really loved linking up with Stephanie's "Reading Wednesday", but recently I feel so behind in my reading.  I had the goal to read a book a month this year and I'm already behind.  I am enjoying this book so far and hope that it gets me back into the routine of reading again.

Currently | Reading Link-up

I love "currently" posts because I love documenting what's going on at the moment.  I'm a huge fan of making digital scrapbooks (both for our family and for Noah) as well as using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts.  I've been doing "currently" posts for a while now, but recently changed up the format.  Here's what I've been up to in May...

Cooking:  new healthier recipes.  My favorites are chicken, rice, and veggie "bowls" using different seasonings to switch up the taste.  I also like that I can make it one night and enjoy leftovers for a few nights.

Eating:  chips and guac.  I used to hate guacamole, so it's kind of funny how much I love it now!  Some of my favorite guacamoles are... Chipotle, Cheesecake Factory (their table side guac is so good), and Wholly Guacamole from Costco.

Wanting:  this iPhone charging case.  I hate when I'm out all day away from my home or car charger and I just watch the battery drain.... especially when I'm snapping (@megflinn33)!  I heard about this new case from Erin

Looking:   to update my jewelry storage.  I have slowly been building quite the collection of long statement necklaces and bracelets.  As a result, I need a better way at storing and displaying them.  I'm hoping I can find what I need at Home Goods.

Hoping:   I don't totally ruin my garden.  My peonies have been looking like they are about to bloom for weeks and I'm starting to get nervous that they will never get past that point.  We planted a hydrangea bush 2 summers ago and this year it seems to be a little delayed.  It is at least growing (just slowly), so I'm very hopeful it will be just as beautiful as last year.   I'm also very nervous about our vegetable garden.  Our seedlings aren't performing as I had hoped.  If we still hope to have a vegetable garden, we may have to get some veggies that have already been started.

Enjoying:  the warmer weather and the new outfits that come with the change in season.  I don't know about you, but I tend to get bored of my closet when I wear the same things over and over.  I am really happy to be able to pull out my summer clothes and even add a few new pieces.

Wishing:  Spring would last longer.  I'm a huge fan of sunny and high 60s/low 70s and feel like we didn't get enough of that this year.  I know Spring is also known for rain, but I personally feel we got more rain than was necessary ;)  And now, I can already feel the humidity rising and know the oppressive heat of summer will be here soon.

Needing:   to schedule some "no plan" weekends this summer.  We have so many fun things that we want to do this summer, and as a result can easily overbook our calendar.  I want to make sure there are a few weekends on the calendar where all we do is go to the pool and hang out :)

Feeling:  proud.  I can't get over Noah and how good he is at writing his letters.  My favorite part is that it's totally self motivated.  Every day he wants to draw and write out different words.  He's mastered spelling Noah, Mom, and Daddy all on his own, and is constantly asking me how to write different words.

Loving:  my new blush pink purse.  I have become such a huge fan of Old Navy recently and love that I can get such a cute purse at such an amazing price!

purse in brown

Wearing:  espadrilles.  They are my absolute favorite shoe for this in-between weather and are so freaking comfy!  I think I may have a slight obsession!

Watching:  lots of season finales but I'm especially loving Dancing with the Stars this season.  It's funny, cause Chris will often say at the beginning that it's going to be a dud because of the cast.  But honestly, I rarely like the bigger name celebrities. I usually end up rooting for someone I didn't even know before the show started.  I watched the finale dances from Monday night, but chances are I won't watch the finale results until this morning, so I don't know who won.  I love Paige and Mark (and wouldn't mind them winning), but I think Nyle and Peta should win... I can't get over that he's deaf and dancing the way he is!!!

Listening to: Justin Timerberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling.   I mentioned it before, but I really do love this song!

Drinking:  red wine.  In reality I'm not drinking that much red wine, or wine in general.  It's just that I didn't even used to like red wine, white was always my preference.  But recently I've found that I like Cabernet Sauvignon and have been ordering it more when out and even bought a bottle to bring to our last Mom's Night Out.

Planning:  my outfits for our weekend away.  We are heading up to Montreal for Memorial Day Weekend... nothing says "let's celebrate our American troops" like going to Canada!  The weather forecast says warm but with random thunderstorms... which is the hardest to pack for in my opinion!

Reading:   Eleanor & Park.  My goal at the beginning of the year was to read one book a month.  While I did read 2 books in March, I slacked off in April and May and only read one book.  And to be honest, I only finished it last night!  But it's not because the book wasn't good (it was), I just had a hard time finding time to read.  Maybe because the weather has been getting better, Noah's been going to bed later, or that I just let life get in the way.  Technically it's a Young Adult book, but I'm learning I really enjoy YA literature.  It's about an unlikely couple who meet when sitting next to each other on the school bus.  I'd rather not ruin the book, so I'll leave it at that.

I'm linking up with Stephanie's "Reading Wednesday" and can't wait to see what books I should read next!

Currently | March 2016

I love "currently" posts because I love documenting what's going on at the moment.  I'm a huge fan of making digital scrapbooks (both for our family and for Noah) as well as using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts.  I've been doing "currently" posts for a while now, but recently changed up the format.  Here's what I've been up to in March (in addition to celebrating my birthday and going on vacation)...

Cooking Baking: Lots of things... cookies, muffins, and scones!  Apparently I love to bake now :)

Eating: Either loads of junk or doing well and eating lots of fruit and veggies... I really should work on achieving more of a middle ground!

Wanting: To get outside more.  When winter is about to end (soon right!?!), I start feeling like we are inside watching too much TV.  This happens every year and then Spring finally arrives and it just naturally corrects itself.  We are all of a sudden spending most of our time outside and barely watching an TV shows (Noah or myself).

Looking:  for some new Spring clothes.  I have the basics covered, but there are a few new pieces I would love to add.  Like some distressed jeans (maybe even a white pair), some delicate tops (maybe some floral and lace), and some longer shorts (I am not a fan of the short shorts on me!).

Enjoying: The ups and downs of a 3 year old.  I know I may be crazy to say this but despite the mood swings that come with a 3 year old, I'm really enjoying this age.  I love that I'm now able to have full on conversations with Noah and really get to know his likes and dislikes.  While he's opinionated and bossy at times, he's such a fun and loving kid.

Wishing: I was back in Turks & Caicos... or at least for warmer weather!

Hoping:  Spring comes sooner than later.  I know that I seem to be talking about the weather a lot, but man has the weather been unpredictable.  We seem to get a few nice days and then it gets cold, windy, and rainy again.  I even saw a chance of snow in the 10 day forecast!!!

Needing:   To practice more with Lightroom.  I was editing with iPhoto but found that it changed when my computer "upgraded" me to Photos.  So now I'm shooting in Raw and editing all my photos in Lightroom.  While I've watched a bunch of YouTube tutorials, I'm sure theres so much more I could learn.  I also think I could improve on my photo organization and workflow.  So if you have any suggestions on how I can improve, I'm all ears!

Feeling: Grateful for Chris.  Not only is he just a really great and hands on dad in general, but this past weekend he just went above and beyond.  He was away on business, technically for two night, but only in Seattle for 25 hours.  He flew there Wednesday night, had meetings on Thursday, and then took the red eye home.  I would have gone directly home to sleep, but not him.  Instead, he took a quick shower and then spent the rest of the day with Noah and his cousins, bouncing around at the Bounce Factory!  He then spent the rest of the weekend running around with them and being the best dad/uncle ever!  Noah and I are very lucky!

Loving: This little blogging community I've found.  While I've always enjoyed reading other blogs, I've recently found a group of blogging friends.  Not only do we support each other through social media, but we are also a sounding board for blogging (and personal) advice.  I also love that they are just genuinely a great group of women!  I hope to one day meet them all, because I really do consider them my friends!

Wearing:  Everything from winter sweaters and coats, to light layers, to swim suits and sundresses.  Not only is the weather here totally unpredictable, but adding a tropical vacation to the mix and my wardrobe is seriously confused... that is if a wardrobe had feelings ;)  You can check out all of my "mommy style" here.

Watching: TV shows on Noah's iPad.  I watch most of my shows after he goes to bed and I find it easier to do so on his iPad while working on my laptop.  While few of my shows are taking a break right now, I'm still watching and loving Castle and Elementary each week.

Listening to: Cake by the Ocean by DNCE.  Sometimes I feel like I'm such a teenage wannabe with the music I like.  While some of it feels a little more grown up, the fact that I'm obsessed with this song and a Jonas brother is in the band makes me laugh.

Drinking: Diet Coke.  I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I've grown a little dependent on my daily Diet Coke.  I had given them up (and all caffeine) a while ago and then slowly decided to let myself indulge sometimes, usually when eating out.  We would keep them in the fridge for my mom, and slowly but surely I started drinking them at home too.  Now when 3 o'clock hits, if I didn't have one at lunch, I feel sluggish and long for a little caffeine pick me up.

Planning:  A long weekend in Montreal.  We are planning on going with my parents and meeting up with my brother and his husband.  It will be a 6 hour drive for us and under a 2 hour drive for my brother.  If you have any tips on things to do with both adults and kids, I'd love any and all recommendations!

Reading:  Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty.  My goal is to read one book a month, but when I finished Me Before You in under a week and was about to go on vacation, I knew I'd need to pick a second book for March!  Let me just tell you that I loved both of these books.  Me Before You is your untraditional love story that will really get you thinking.  And What Alice Forgot is the second Liane Moriarty book I've read this year, and I'm really becoming a fan.  Not only did I love Alice's story, but I also really enjoyed reading her sister's story and found that her infertility struggles and feelings about it to be spot on and very relatable.  I also love that both of these books are being turned in movies.  Me Before You comes out in June while What Alice Forgot is in early production (with Jennifer Anniston cast as Alice).

I'm linking up with Stephanie's "Reading Wednesday" and can't wait to see what books I should read next!

What have you been up to this month?  Read any good books that I should add to my "must read" list?
