A "Spooky" 5 on Friday

Happy Halloween!  Today we will be dressing up for music class.  I say we, because in addition to Noah being a firefighter, I will be wearing some dalmatian ears... get it, I'm the dog to Noah the fireman :)  We will also do a little trick or treating around our neighborhood this afternoon.  As if that wasn't enough, this weekend we will be celebrating Noah's 2nd Birthday!  He's having a kid party tomorrow and we will be celebrating with the family on Sunday (his actual birthday).  I will be sure to recap everything next week :)  Have a great weekend... here's my Five on Friday!

Who doesn't love a comparison shot... here's Noah last year dressed up as a pumpkin and this year dressed up as a firefighter!  Last year he wasn't walking, let alone standing, and this year he's running around with an axe ;)

All week, Noah has been wearing his Halloween shirts.  Though, if he had his way he'd wear a "digger shirt" everyday.

Noah helped me make some Halloween inspired cookies this week.  While they are my usual Angeletti Recipe, I made them "Halloweeny" by adding orange and black sprinkles :)

Noah loves to read.  This year we bought a few Halloween/Fall books and he loves reading them every night.  Often he does this with Chris after dinner while I either clean up the toys or just have some me time.  Here are some of our favorites...

Finally, not at all Halloween related, but you may have noticed some changes around the blog.  I changed my blog URL so that it finally matches the name of my blog!  I followed these steps and it was actually a lot easier than I expected!  I also started watermarking my images.  I haven't had a bad experience, but I want to make sure my images stay mine.

Halloween Party and Parade

This will be our first Halloween in our new house and our new MOMS club. We have lots of halloween activities this week where Noah gets to dress up.  We visited a nursing home on Tuesday to sing some songs and have a mini parade, today we have a trunk or treat, and tomorrow we will dress up for music class as well as go trick or treating in the afternoon.  But today I wanted to share some pictures from the Halloween parade and party we went to yesterday!

Two firemen and their dalmatian :)

Noah with Grandma & Grandpa (my parents)

Noah with Nonna & Granddad (Chris' parents)

We had a great turnout... Over 40 moms came with their kids.  Husbands and grandparents were invited too, so we made it a family affair.  Noah is so lucky to have both sets of grandparents live close by and I think he was the only kid there with both sets of grandparents there!

We started off with the parade, since the rain was forecasted to begin soon!  It started drizzling at the end of our parade around the street.  We then went into the church where they have this amazing set up in the basement for kids to play.  During the week they do a PEP club there (like a mommy and me preschool like program).  We all brought snacks and the kids played and ate some goodies.  I think we found a few toys to add to Noah's wish list!

After the party, we all went to the nearby Friendly's for dinner.  My mom and I both came prepared with crayons and stickers and coloring books to keep Noah entertained... it worked!  He also ate most of his meal and had ice cream for dessert!  It was a really great evening!

Stay tuned next week when I recap the rest of our Halloween activities!

It's The Little Things | Noah's 2nd Year

Since Noah is turning 2 on Sunday, I couldn't help but look back at the last year.  I've had so much fun documenting his/our life on the blog and it's a great way to look back at all the exciting things he's/we've done!  Take a look...

November/Month 13

After Noah turned 1 on November 2nd, we had a pretty busy month.  We celebrated my mom's birthday, Noah got his first haircut, and we celebrated Thanksgiving!

December/Month 14

December was all about Christmas!  We went on a Santa Train and went to see Rockefeller Tree in NYC.  Noah wasn't a fan of Santa!  Noah got a lot of new Christmas books and PJs!  Noah also played in the snow for the first time!  Noah stood for the first time on his own a few days before Christmas!  We celebrated Christmas with both families and wished Daddy a very happy birthday!  We ended the year with a low key New Year's Eve!

January/Month 15

Noah took his first steps in the beginning of January and was walking everywhere by the end of the month!  We started hanging out inside more but had a few snow days!

February/Month 16

We celebrated Valentine's Day.  We also went to Miami for a few days.  It was Noah's first time on an airplane and first time in Florida!

March/Month 17

We celebrated my 30th birthday!  We also went to the St. Patty's Day Parade in our town.

April/Month 18

We celebrated Easter all month long!  We played with an Easter sensory bin, Noah got a basket, had an easter egg hunt, and went to Easter brunch.

May/Month 19

We celebrated Noah's Half Birthday!  We took some photos for Mother's Day and celebrated with Grandma and Nonna!  We also kicked off summer with a fun Memorial Day Weekend!

June/Month 20

We spent lots of time outside, at the pool and playground.  We took some photos for Father's Day and celebrated with Grandpa and Granddad.  We also took Noah strawberry picking for the first time!  But the biggest thing this month was buying our new house!

July/Month 21

We celebrated 4th of July doing stuff around the new house.  We moved into our new house!  We spent lots of time on our new deck, playing with the water table and grilling.  Noah loved watching daddy mow the lawn!  Noah became obsessed with smoothies!  We also visited a local splash pad!

August/Month 22

We had a busy last month of summer!  We went to Rhode Island to visit Noah's cousins and made a stop at Yale University on the way home.  Noah got a new play set for the backyard, helped with some gardening, and made sauce with Nonna.  We also went to the zoo and went apple picking!  We also learned that Noah loves tennis and football!

September/Month 23

We listened to live music in Hoboken and went to Vermont for a wedding.  We also spent the day at the Bronx Zoo and took Noah to his first baseball game!  We went back to Morristown for the Fall Festival!

October/Month 24

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday and made a day trip down to University of Delaware.  We went on a nature walk, raked some leaves, and went to the pumpkin patch a few times!  We will be celebrating Noah's 2nd Halloween and excited for him to be a firefighter!  Noah also got his haircut (and didn't cry) and became obsessed with Elmo :)

It's been an amazing year!  Happy (almost) 2nd Birthday Noah!
