18 Weeks!

How far along?  18 weeks!
Baby Size: A bell pepper or PICKLE! 5 inches long and 7 ounces
Total weight gain/loss: 6+ lbs.
Maternity clothes?  Yup
Stretch marks?  None yet.
Sleep:  Getting up to use the bathroom at least once a night, but otherwise sleeping has been okay
Best moment this week:  Not much happened this week.  I guess continuing to research items for the registry has been fun.
Have you told family and friends:  Yup.
Miss Anything? Energy.  I had to go to the city for work on Wednesday (aka the hottest day ever!) and I got tired so easily and I can't walk very fast anymore.
Movement:  I once again suspected that I felt some fluttering, but I'm really not sure.
Food cravings:  Saturday I decided I was in the mood for Outback Cheese Fries... so we went there for dinner :)  I have a feeling that has nothing to do with being pregnant, but rather that their cheese fries are AWESOME!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really anymore, some colognes still sometimes bother me, but don't make me sick.
Have you started to show yet:  Some days I look more pregnant than others, depends what I'm wearing.
Gender prediction: Girl.  I want to take a poll of what everyone else thinks.  I can't wait to find out!
Labor Signs: No

Symptoms:  I had some tightening of my uterus on Wednesday, not sure if it was just growing/expanding pains or braxton hicks, but it passed quickly.  I'm making sure I drink LOTS of water!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On, but I'm not sure how long that will last during the summer!
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Really happy.
Looking forward to:  Finding out the gender... I really am not a very patient person!

17 Weeks!

How far along?  17 weeks!
Baby Size: An Onion
Total weight gain/loss: 6+ lbs.  I've decided to just let the doctor tell me my official weight from now on.
Maternity clothes?  Definitely.  Although the maxi dress I'm wearing in the picture is regular size and I bought a regular size dressy dress for a wedding we are going to.
Stretch marks?  None yet.
Sleep:  The boppy has helped, but recently I find myself waking up and I'm on my back.  They say not to freak out so I just position myself back on my side, but I wake up a lot.
Best moment this week:  Chris surprised me with a picture frame for the ultrasound.  It said "It is truly amazing how someone so small, could inspire a love so grand".  It was so sweet, and with my crazy hormones I was definitely tearing up when I saw it!
Have you told family and friends:  YES!  We went to a cousin's graduation party and got to tell even more people.
Miss Anything? Not really
Movement:  I thought I felt some fluttering one day earlier this week, but I was probably wrong.
Food cravings:  Not really.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not much... Chris stopped eating his cheese in front of me.
Have you started to show yet:  Yeah, I'd say so.
Gender prediction: I still say girl,  Chris is back to being undecided.  I spoke to my niece Kaitlyn earlier this week and she says boy.  So we shall see!
Labor Signs: No

Symptoms:  The swelling is still there but it's gotten better.  I experienced heartburn for the first time on Saturday.  It was not fun.
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Really happy.
Looking forward to:  We ordered some baby books so I'm excited to start reading to the baby at night.

Father's Day 2012

This year for Father's Day, Luke was actually home visiting.  He flew in late Wednesday night and was going back to Chicago Sunday morning.  So we decided to do Father's Day Dinner with the Freels on Saturday night.  We told my dad he could pick any restaurant, and he decided he wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory.  Chris, Luke, and I were already at the mall seeing Rock of Ages, so my parents just met us there afterwards.  We had about a 20 minute wait, but it was so nice outside that we decided to take some pictures and have dad open his gift while we waited.  We even got to have dinner outside... the weather was perfect!

Sunday morning, while we were taking our usual weekly pregnancy shot, I decided to have Chris join me for one since it's technically Father's Day for him too!  We decided we wouldn't really celebrate (cards and gifts) until next year when the baby is actually here, but I wanted him involved in this picture at least :)

Chris was great, he set up the tripod and figured out how to use the remote control for the camera.  He is always so helpful... I KNOW he will be an amazing father!

That afternoon we headed over to the Flinns for a Father's Day BBQ.

16 Weeks!

How far along? 16 Weeks
Baby Size: an Avocado.  Apparently the baby is about 4.5 inches long and 3.5 ounces.

Total weight gain: As of Friday at the doctor, 6 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Oh yeah.  I tried on a regular shirt the other day and it was just too tight around the boobs and stomach.

Stretch marks? Not yet

Sleep: Better now that I have my new boppy pillow.

Best moment this week: hearing the baby's heart beat again during my doctor's appointment.

Miss Anything? not really

Movement: none yet

Food cravings: Recently I've been craving Pizza Hut Pizza.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing new.

Gender Predictions: I feel like I change my mind every day.

Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms: Thursday my right ankle and foot started swelling... the first time I've ever had cankles!  I thought it seemed early, but the doctor said it was normal especially in the Summer.  Now I just elevate my feet when I get home from work.

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? on
Mood: Happy, but I get nervous that every symptom means something is wrong (i.e. thinking my swollen foot was a blood clot or meant I had high blood pressure)

Looking forward to: I think for the next five weeks I will be looking forward to finding out the gender.  Partly because I really want to be able to imagine the little person we are going to meet in November and also because once we know the gender I can start choosing things for the registry.  I am also looking forward to feeling the baby move!

Photo Safari - Central Park

On Saturday, Chris and I headed into the NYC to do a "Photo Safari" around Central Park.  We had found the company through Groupon and since we had just gotten the camera for Christmas, we decided it would be a great opportunity to get better at taking pictures.  The class started at 9:30, but since we were nervous about traffic, parking, and finding the meeting location within Central Park, we left early.  We ended up getting to the meeting point at 8:45, plenty of time :)

Our teacher/tour guide was great, giving us simple tips on how to take better pictures and on composition.  Chris used our old point and shoot for most of the time while I used the Nikon, but then we switched towards the end.  We learned that it really didn't matter much which camera you had, it was just finding the right picture.  It was a lot of fun, I would definitely recommend doing it if you live nearby or even if you come to visit NYC... they have lots of different locations of the "Safaris".

It started out cloudy and even had some sprinkles, but by the end the sun was out and it had actually gotten pretty warm.  We finished at 12 and then headed to find a place for lunch.  We found this little restaurant called "Eats" on the Upper East Side and got this great Cheeseburger with caramelized onions on it :)  Right down the street was a baby store called Giggle.  We are currently looking for a glider, but most of the ones we see online don't have a store for us to go try them out.  Thankfully, Chris did some research and learned that Giggle carried the Luca Glider, so we took this opportunity to go try it out.  I'm glad we did, because we loved it and now we are sure that this is the glider for us.  Now we just have to pick out what color we want!

We had a really great time in the city, but I was starting to get a bad headache and the horrendous traffic on the way home did not help!  By the time we got home I was in a lot of pain.  My head was throbbing and my feet and legs were super sore from all the walking.  So I decided to get in bed and rest for the remainder of the day.  Man does pregnancy really take a lot of energy out of you... I really just can't do as much as I used to be able to!   I guess it prepares you for when the baby comes and you really can't do all the things you used to.  Even with all the changes, I wouldn't give any of it up... I really do enjoy being pregnant!

15 Weeks!

How far along?  15 weeks!
Baby Size: An Orange
Total weight gain/loss: I think I've gained about 6 lbs so far, but that could be from the wedding we went to yesterday.
Maternity clothes?  Wearing mostly maternity stuff now.  I find if I wear normal clothes in a bigger size it just makes me look fat.
Stretch marks?  Non yet.
Sleep:  Back to going to bed early.  One night this week I woke up super stuffed and had to put a breathe right strip on.  We also ordered a noise machine since I'm super sensitive to any noise right now.
Best moment this week:  So glad I feel better and I got to enjoy my friends' wedding!
Have you told family and friends:  YES!
Miss Anything? I've been breaking out badly, and normally I'd just put on my prescription ointment and get rid of them, but I can't use it now.
Movement:  Nope.
Food cravings:  Not really.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Still just Chris' low fat parmesan cheese.
Have you started to show yet:  I definitely think I'm showing.
Gender prediction:  I'm going with girl and I finally got Chris to say boy yesterday!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Very happy, just tired.
Looking forward to: We are taking a photography class next weekend, so I'm excited to learn some new skills.  We are also going to try out some gliders!

Baby Flinn's First Wedding

On Saturday, June 2nd, Chris and I (and baby) headed down to Long Branch for two of my high school (and college) friends, Kristen and Brendan.  They were having a beach wedding, and when it was pouring Friday night, we were getting very nervous that they wouldn't get to have their beach ceremony.  Thankfully, the skies cleared and it became a gorgeous and sunny day!

After the ceremony we enjoyed a cocktail hour inside.  Kristen and Brendan had a yummy signature (and non-alcoholic) drink, a Strawberry Lemonade.  I drank them the whole afternoon!  The wedding was so much fun and I am so happy for Kristen and Brendan!
