Holiday Ready with Metallics

Please tell me I'm not the only one who's been itching to decorate for Christmas ever since Halloween officially ended???  I know there's still Thanksgiving, and Christmas isn't for another 45 days (not that I'm counting, hehe), but it really is my favorite holiday and I really love decorating the house for it.  But in order to appease my husband, who doesn't want to decorate until after Thanksgiving, I've come up with a few simple ways to update my decor for the holidays without going overboard.

While I won't be putting up our big Christmas tree or hanging any lights just yet, I did think it would be fun to update my bathroom decor and make it holiday ready with some metallic accents.  I headed straight to Target to browse the aisles, since I know they always have the best decor for a really reasonable price.  I get an updated bathroom, that's holiday ready, without breaking the bank #targetdoesitagain!

The gold trend is still going strong and I was instantly drawn to all the gold accessories.  This soap dispenser was love at first sight.  I just love the combination of the gold and marble!  While I usually just leave the handsoap in the bottle it comes in, I thought this was a nice upgrade!  I am a huge fan of white towels, but once I decided to decorate with gold, I knew I had to have these hand towels.  The gold trim is the perfect amount of shine without being overly fussy.  Finally, I knew I wanted to add a new candle to my bathroom.  Noah helped me smell test all the new Christmas scents and we picked out our favorite.  And while it didn't necessarily clash with the gold, I wanted to continue with the gold theme.  I am so happy I found this candle holder that isn't only beautiful, but also just happens to be the perfect size and disguise.

Once my sink area was holiday and guest ready, I turned my focus to the toilet. My worst fear is that we will run out of toilet paper when guests are over. Who wants to have a guest have to ask you where you keep your extra toilet paper? There are two things that I've done in order to never face this embarrassing question. First, we buy the Quilted Northern Ultra Plush® Mega Rolls. Not only are they super soft, but Quilted Northern® Mega Rolls are 4 regular rolls in one – so they last longer, meaning you can change the roll less often than before. Second, we keep our extra rolls out in the open in a wire basket, on a shelf above the toilet.  The toilet paper is now easy to access but still looks pretty!  And I had to add the boxwood tree... I wonder if my husband will notice ;)

Target is not only my favorite store for new decor, it's always where I stock up on all the necessities. I headed over to the bath tissue aisle to stock up on the Quilted Northern® Mega Rolls. While I picked up the Ultra Plush Mega Rolls, make sure to also look for the new Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls (in the blue packaging)! Target Cartwheel is currently offering 5% off Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls from 11/8-11/29.

You can also enter to win one of multiple Target gift cards, which would be perfect for updating your own bathroom decor!

Have you started decorating for the holidays?

  1. The bathroom is one area that I don't decorate for holidays. We have such a small area to work with that it just doesn't allow me too.

PS -- my decor is going up tomorrow!

  2. I decorated our bathroom for the holidays before Owen was born, but since our guest bathroom is so small it's hard to keep things out of his reach. He loves playing with my decor. I love what you did to make the bathroom festive but not over the top .

  3. Those metalics are so pretty. I'd leave them in place all year long. I should totally decorate the bathroom this year. Hang a wreath over the toilet or something :).
