The Kids Behind The Blog

Another month of "The Kids Behind The Blog"!!!  I am really loving this link up and it's proving to be a really great way to document Noah throughout the course of a year.  I really love recording our interviews on video because it really shows his personality, growth, and speech development.  And it's pretty darn hilarious to watch him copy me and ask his own questions each month!

As much as I love asking Noah the questions each month, I also have so much fun reading what your and my co-hosts' (CrystalBethJessicaStephanie) kids have to say each month! And in case you are new to the linkup, here's a little background information. We came up with this idea because we are such huge fans of Betsy's "The Guys Behind the Blog" and wanted to create something similar to do with the "kids that made us mamas".  Each month, we have a set of questions to ask our kid(s) and we will share their answers on our blogs. We sure hope that you will do the same and link up with us each month! We can't wait to read what your kids have to say!

This month's questions were:

What 2 things do you like to do outside in the summer?
If you could go anywhere this Summer where would you go and why?
What is your favorite thing about summer?
If you could pick any way to spend a hot Summer day, how would you spend it?
What is your favorite Summer treat?

Just like the last few months, Noah had some questions of his own.  Though I'm starting to notice that they are very similar questions each month ;)  You can also see that Noah is currently in the potty humor phase, full force!

And as usual, I have a few notes regarding the video and some of Noah's answers.
  • While I easily could leave out the part where Noah asks me his questions, I find that it really shows Noah's personality.  I also love watching him run with his own ideas.
  • And while I easily could have edited out his "poopy" question, it just really shows you what Noah is interested in at this age.  We hear about poop at least 100 times a day!
  • I was impressed with Noah's answers that they actually made a lot of sense.  The only one that didn't really was the what he liked best about summer... really, flowers???
  • And I can't help but laugh that his favorite treat is Swedish Fish!  He's always been a fan but since we picked up the family size bag, he's been obsessed.  And I'm a little embarrassed to admit that we've already had to buy another family size bag!  I also think it's hilarious that he thinks they are "sweet-ish" fish!!!
I'd love for you to share what your kids had to say this month. Just grab our button and link up at the bottom of the post! Also make sure to stop by CrystalBethJessica, and Stephanie's blogs to see how their cute kids answered!

And as for next month, the link up will go live on August 10th. Here are the questions...

August Questions:

1. What was your favorite thing you did over the summer?
2. What’s your favorite thing to learn about at school?
3. Who is your best friend from school?
4. What do you want be when you grow up?
5. What is your least favorite thing about school?

  1. We hear about poop all day long in our house too. Must be a boy thing. I keep trying to explain that we can talk about it at home, but it's not appropriate when we are out other places. We will see if that sinks in. Love Noah's answers and I don't blame him for loving swedish fish.

  2. When Simon was newly potty trained I told him he could only say bathroom words in the bathroom. So he said he had to go to the bathroom and once we were inside, he said "now I can say poop!"

  3. Baha ha I think the poop thing must be a boy thing too ^. I know my friend who has boys had a harder time managing that topic than I ever do. Noah is just the cutest and I totally thinkg they should be sweetish fish. I mean it just makes way more sense.

  4. Haha this is too funny! What a personality!!

  5. Poop talks seem to pop up around here too or bottom convos, kids lol.

  6. I love that you do these as videos, what an awesome collection you will have for when he is older! Myles is all about 'poopy' too. I remember thinking that was something that kids did when they were older than his age, but I was wrong! It is the funniest thing to them!

  7. It makes me so happy to hear you have the poop struggle too. Connor says poop or butt a million times a day. I'm over it and I can't even tell you where he gets it from.

  8. I look forward to these posts and hearing what questions Noah asks you guys! He’s so cute!! His answers are great!! We are obsessed with Sweedish Fish over here, too!
