Our Weekend in Photos

First day of Spring, last weekend before Easter, and yet you would never know that here in New Jersey since it was cold and snow was in Sunday night's forecast (I really hope we wake up today and find they were wrong!).  Every once in a while, especially after a few busy weekends in a row, we try not to schedule much.  This was that weekend.  On Saturday, Noah stayed in his pajamas all day.  He was very happy for daddy to be home and they spent the day playing Paw Patrol, Transformers, and the Daniel Tiger board game.  Meanwhile, I did our taxes.  While I used to be an accountant, I never did taxes, and absolutely despise them.... and ours are pretty simple compared to what they could be!  At 5pm, Noah got dressed, I threw some makeup on, and we met some friends for dinner at Chipotle.  While there, we spotted five construction vehicles at the bank across the street and knew we had to take the kids over.  They were in heaven looking at all the trucks and picking rocks to add to the mountain of gravel.  Follow me on snapchat (megfllinn33) and you'll get to watch these exciting events in real time :)

Skittles and Noah's artwork is the only thing that got me through an afternoon of taxes!

On Sunday, we went to a Touch a Truck event through our MOMS Club at the local fire station.  The kids loved looking at all the trucks and sitting inside the fire trucks and ambulance.  Noah definitely did not want to leave!  We spent the rest of the day just hanging out at home.  Noah played, Chris raked some leaves, and I baked some muffins and manicotti.

Despite not having a ton of real plans this weekend, we stayed fairly busy and had so much fun!  The only way it could have been better is if it had been warmer out and we could have spent more time outside!  Come on Spring... get here already!

  1. That little road play rug is where it's at!! So much fun. Also, I need to join MOPS. Feeling you on the cold spell - it was 32 degrees this morning when I woke up!

  2. In love with the idea of Touch a Truck!!! Who did ya'll contact to coordinate that event or was it something already in progress that you were able to piggy back on? So much fun. Especially since I can already see the extreme affection Ben has for vehicles & sounds!
Is that your snack plate or Noah's? ha! I see the cheese slices! ;)
Is that manicotti? What do you stuff your's with?

  3. It’s cold here too! Such a bummer. We were teased with beautiful spring-like weather and then it went away. Good ol’ Texas. I hope y’all get some warmth and sunshine soon. Sounds like a great weekend. I know Noah had fun with the construction vehicles and Firetrucks!! So cool…every little boys dream!

  4. The cold weather really sucks. I wish the temperature would stop fluctuating so much and just stay put. I don't know what to wear anymore! I need to get some Chipotle ASAP. We were avoiding it for a while during all the issues and I'm totally fine with going now - we just haven't gotten around to it. That little tub of guac in your picture - drool! Sounds like a fun weekend!

  5. I feel you on wanting spring to arrive already. This weekend was bleck and cold. We are SO over it and ready for some warm sunshine. Taxes are just the pits right?! We finally got ours done a couple of weeks ago. I hope you are having a great Monday.

  7. I discovered the Paw Patrol rug and wish we could "need" it. We have 2 play rugs so a 3rd would be too much. I don't see you as an accountant at all. Are you really good with math? I'm horrible!

  8. Cold weather sucks, but you guys always have so much fun anyway! We are lucky and Drew's dad is a tax attorney, so he does our taxes. I swear it's like playtime for him when he does ours. Ha ha!
