My New Office/Craft Room | The Plan

We have a three bedroom house.  When we moved in back in 2014, Noah was still in his crib but often ended up coming into our bed in the middle of the night.  In order to let Chris get a better night's sleep, we basically set up the two bedrooms for Noah.  We turned the larger room into a "big boy room" for him that he would eventually move into completely, and put his crib, changing table, and glider into the smaller room.  While I never decorated his "nursery", we used it for quite a while.  All his clothes and books were in there, I rocked him to sleep each night and he started off in the crib.  We'd always wake up in his big boy bed, but in reality we didn't use that room for much else.  But then one day we switched him to the big boy room for good.  No more rocking to sleep, no more sleeping in the crib at all.  I moved all his clothes and toys into the new room, and since then, the nursery hasn't been used at all.  So this past month, we took the crib down and decided to turn that room into a little office/craft room for me.  We are leaving the glider and the dresser/changing table in there for a place to sit and some extra storage.  I then started searching for a desk and chair that would take the place of where the crib used to be.  So far, this is what I've come up with...

I decided to save on the desk and splurged on the chair   I am obsessed with this chair and I'm just glad we were able to finally find a coupon that worked on furniture!  So far, I've cleaned out the closet and the drawers to give the room a clean slate.  Over the next month I plan to move all my office and craft stuff (that is currently spread out throughout the house) into the room.  I will really enjoy having everything in one place and have a desk to sit at while I do things on my computer.  I'm hoping I can get things done while Noah sleeps (right down the hall) and may even start having quiet time for Noah in the afternoon so I can get some crafting or blogging done.  I'll be sure to update you with my decor and organizational progress :)

Do you have a separate office space?  Any tips on how to keep it organized?

  3. I can't wait for you to share your finished space with us. I love having a designated place for blogging and my stuff. I don't have a ton of craft things but I do have a ton of stationary and needed a place to organize those goodies. happy decorating!

  6. That chair is amazing! Totally worth the splurge. I really wish I had a space to call my own. That seems a bit crazy since we have a huge desk in the home school room, but that space is the girls. Sure I hijack it sometime but I would love a space that is all mine.

    You picked some great pieces.
