Since my last "Mommy Style" post, it's been all about Christmas and family get togethers over at our house! I feel like I was either dressing for a house "party" or we were at home in our pajamas for the entire day. I'll spare you all the pajama photos and instead stick with my going out outfits :)
Christmas Eve - we went to my parents' house for a relaxing afternoon/evening of gifts and food. My parents gave me this Madewell cross body bag, so I obviously had to pose with it :)
Christmas Day - we spent the afternoon with Chris' parents. It was much warmer than we are used to on Christmas Day, so I opted for a thin blouse and added some Christmas cheer with a red plaid scarf.
The day after Christmas, we had a "Cousins Party" with Chris' extended family. While it was a little chillier than Christmas Eve & Day, I still didn't need to wear a coat. I jumped on the chance to wear my new poncho since wearing it with a jacket may prove to be more difficult. I also couldn't wait to wear my new boots that I "gifted myself" this Christmas. And extra bonus points for finding them on sale and having an extra coupon! If you need some new boots you totally have to check these out... I'm a huge fan of Sam Edelman!
A trip to the Crayola Factory. I knew I wanted to be comfortable since we'd be walking around and on our feet all morning. I'm not sure if I love the look of my boyfriend jeans with the sneakers, but comfort won out.
We went out to dinner to celebrate Chris and his dad's birthdays. I kept it pretty casual since we were just going to Jose Tejas :)
This year we celebrated New Year's Eve with some friends. While it was still kid friendly and very low key, it's more than we've done in past years. It was nice to have an excuse to sort of dress up. I loved the loose fitting gray sweater, but after seeing these photos, I should have worn a camisole underneath so my bra wouldn't show as much!
A second birthday celebration for Chris... since winter weather has finally arrived, I chose to wear another sweater to stay warm (and only took of my jacket for the photo). Since we were just having a casual dinner with my parents, I made sure I was comfortable as well. I find the marled sweater photographs a little funny and in real life the front part looks more solid than flecked.
