Holiday Gift Guides | Women & Children Only

Even though it's only December 3rd, I feel like I'm super late to be posting a Holiday Wish List/Gift Guide.   As I get older, I find that my wish list not only has some higher end "luxury" items, but also has some super practical items as well.  There's such a wide range of items, from a cookie scoop that would fit perfectly in my stocking, to larger items like the cross body and camera lens.  I already know I'm getting the purse, since I was in Madewell with my mom when I picked it out.  I had seen the gray version online about a month ago, but by the time I sent it to Chris to order, they only had the black and brown color.  On a whim, my mom and I stopped by the store to see if they had any of the gray left.  While my store didn't, the lovely sales associate called a few stores and found one!  And the luck continued, because they were having 25% off and free shipping at the time... AMAZING!

Cleansing Brush | Cross Body Purse | Dress Up Collection Earrings (Stia Couture)
Cookie Scoop  | Spoons | Selfie StickEyes Mobi | Nikon 10mm lens

While most of these items are things I don't have, but would love to see in my stocking or under the tree, there are two items that I have, love, and must share with you!  Consider this my gift to you and run out and buy these... either for a friend of yourself!

The first thing are the earrings.  Who isn't a fan of giving and getting jewelry as a gift?!  As a stay-at-home-mom, I love pieces that can be dressed up or down and used both every day as well as when going out for date night.  I also love supporting small and local businesses, especially around the holidays.  A friend of mine started Stia Couture a few years ago and I just love the pieces she makes!  You can get to know Christina a little bit by reading her bio...

These "dress up" earrings are my absolute favorite item from Stia right now.  Thats because these earrings can be worn as a simple stud or with the added ring of bling.  Perfect for going day to night with the same earring!  At $35 each, they make the perfect gift for a girlfriend, mother/mother-in-law, or even a stocking stuffer!  And if you'd like to see how they look on me, here are a few awkward selfies ;)

Christina sells her jewelry on Etsy as well as in numerous boutiques... make sure to check it out!

The second is the cleansing brush.  I often compare jewelry to the pretty icing you add to a cake, and good skin is like the delicious cake underneath... both are equally important!  In hopes to have better skin, I recently started buying Mary Kay products and I'm really in love.  I have very sensitive skin so I am very particular about the products I use.  Not only is my skin sensitive, but when I turned 25 I started getting hormonal acne.  As someone who had perfect skin in high school, this was a shock and huge annoyance!  Finding something to treat my breakouts but not irritate my sensitive skin is not always easy.  In high school, I wasn't very good at washing my face, but I am much better now!  By working with my amazing Mary Kay consultant, Audra, I have found a great cleansing system as well as an exfoliator and eye cream.  I noticed an immediate improvement in my skin and it's so soft to the touch now.  Just recently, I discovered this facial cleansing brush and it's just taken it to the next level.  I'll be honest that I was hesitant about this product thinking it wasn't really necessary.  It's pretty cool how it not only provides deep cleansing and exfoliation, but it also feels great when it massages your face! And when you see how much cleaner it really gets your face, you will be sold on it too.  I also love that the Mary Kay version is not only much cheaper than its competitors, but it was also voted best for sensitive skin by Real Simple!  These are just a few of the reasons I think this would make an amazing gift for any of the women in your life :)

Next up, I wanted to share a few things that we are getting for Noah this year.  While it's always fun to shop the "girly" stuff, hopefully this will give you a few ideas for that pre-schooler in your life.

Recently, I asked Noah what he wanted Santa to bring him.  I was surprised when he told me he wanted Santa to bring him 3 things.  While I'm not surprised with the three toys he chose, I was surprised he didn't ask for more.  This is the kid who asks me to take a picture of multiple toys every time we go out so I can send to Santa.  Maybe he knows Santa isn't the only one who gets him gifts??  Anyway, the three gifts he asked for are: a T-Rex to go with the Stegosaurus and Triceratops that he already has, a Mickey Mouse plush (after a friend had one at a play date), and a Mickey Mouse fire truck

In addition to the toys from Santa, Chris and I picked out a few things we thought he'd like.  I'll admit that while I understand the "4 gifts" thing, I don't follow it.  I just get too excited around Christmas to only buy 4 things.  And I also rationalize it that we are home all the time (other than the 6 hours Noah is at school) and Noah really does play with all his toys :)    We really think he will love the trampoline since he's recently started climbing and jumping more on the couch (which we don't love) and he had a blast at a few parties where trampolines were involved.  I just hope he isn't disappointed it's not a full sized one ;).   When Noah turned 3, he got a few board games as gifts and he loves them!  In addition to getting him Candy Land, Chris said he wanted to get him Jenga   Noah loves building towers with blocks and knocking them down, so we thought this could be a fun game to play as a family.  Or it could just be a frustrating disaster ;)  Noah has always loved to bake with me and is still a huge fan of playing in his toy kitchen.  So when I saw this Melissa and Doug Baking Set  I knew I had to get it for him!  And finally, I personally feel that we can't have enough puzzles or books.  We are finally getting Noah this Hape alphabet puzzle .. it was on his birthday wish list too!  And I am so excited for these three books we got Noah.  I found them at the book fair at Noah's school and they are totally different than books I've seen before.  I am really looking forward to the Construction book because you use a flashlight to uncover extra fun stuff in the book :)

What is your child asking Santa to bring this year?  Do you make a wish list for yourself as well?

Disclaimer : I was given the cleansing brush and earrings for free in exchange for this review. However, all opinions and statements are my own.

  5. Ooh I hope you get that new lens! And I have a wi-fi photo card, but I don't really use it since you have to upload ALL the photos. You can't just pick a few. I tend to take a ton of photos, so it just doesn't work well for me.
