What's in my bag? | #BeHealthyForEveryPartOfLife

Today I wanted to share with you this new "diaper bag" I recently got!  While Noah requires less and less "stuff" as he gets older, he still uses diapers, gets randomly dirty, and always seems to be starving whenever we go out!  Sometimes I will leave the diaper bag in the car and just use a cross body bag if I'm just running in for a quick errand, but most of the time I still carry this around.  I also love that when we go out for longer excursions, this bag can store all the necessities and leaves me hands free.  I had a regular over the shoulder bag before and I found it was rather annoying that it was constantly falling off my shoulder.

Now to the fun stuff... what do I keep in this new bag of mine???  I don't know about you, but I'm a little nosey and love knowing what other people are packing on a daily basis.  I will start with Noah's things, since he's the reason I need to carry a large bag to begin with. Noah is still in diapers and still gets messy.  As a result, I always have a few diapers and wipes on hand, as well as the pad that came with the backpack, and a change of clothes.  Sometimes we go months without him needing the change of clothes, so every once in a while I have to check and make sure I have the appropriate size and season packed.  I'm trying to get better at bringing my bag in from the car at the end of the day, so that I don't forget to restock the diapers every once in a while... that would be awkward and horrible to run out when on the go!

Noah is the kind of kid who forgets to eat when he's busy playing.  So when we are at home, he often forgets he's hungry and even turns down food that I offer him.  But without fail, as soon as we get in the car, he asks for a drink and a snack.  I have learned and now I pack a few snacks that I can quickly grab (even while driving) that he can easily eat on his own.

animal crackers | apple juice | Pirate's Booty
Nutella on the Go! | GoGoSqueez Applesauce | a snack container of goldfish

One of the things that I've ended up loving, is that the backpack came with these two toiletry type pouches that fit perfectly in the front compartment.  I use a mesh one for Noah's stuff and I took the pretty black and white printed one for myself.  For Noah, I keep bandages and ointment (just in case he gets a scraped knee), a travel pack of tissues, hand sanitizer, and some scented bags for those smelly diapers!

wristlet (in Fall color... which I'd LOVE (hint hint)) | sunglasses

For me, I bring just the essentials (that you can see above).  My wallet, sunglasses, some feminine products (just being honest), and lip gloss.  In addition to these basics, I recently discovered some amazing products during my last trip to the beauty section in Walmart!  I've always been a huge fan of ChapStick (the original black kind), so I was very excited to find this new ChapStick Total Hydration!  The packaging was so pretty and I was loving the benefits it described.  Who couldn't use a product that is 100% natural, age defying, and clinically proven to give healthier looking lips... sign me up!

When looking for my usual vitamins, I stumbled upon these new Centrum VitaMints.  I've always been a huge fan of Centrum Vitamins, so when I saw these, I thought it was such a cool idea to combine essential vitamins and a minty taste!  I love that if I forget to take it at home, I can take these any time of day without food or water and have a refreshingly minty taste when I'm done :)  Such a lifesaver for a mom on the go!

And finally, I don't know about you, but parenting can be hard and sometimes results in a headache.  While we keep our medicine cabinet at home stocked, I'm always in a bind if I get a headache when out.  I have no clue why it took me so long to do this, but after seeing it by the checkout, I started carrying around Advil Tablet Vial.  It is basically the good old medicine we all love, but in a travel size container that fits perfectly in your purse!  You can use the Advil tablets for not only headaches, but also minor arthritis and other joint pain, muscle aches and pains of the common cold.

When we are going for long day trips where I want to use my real (and big) camera, I throw that in the bag and pare down the snacks.  We instead keep more snacks in the car.  This works for us, since like I said before, Noah doesn't usually realize he's hungry until he's bored, which is usually in the car ;)

^^^ I love the teal blue lining!

I also LOVE this bag because it has two drink holders on the side.  They are the perfect size for not only my water bottle, but Noah's sippy cups of either water or juice.  I cannot go anywhere without a drink and Noah seems to be the same way!  I was also pleasantly surprised that the bag has clips on the straps that let you attach it to your stroller... love this feature!

Now that you know what I keep in my bag, I'd love to hear what your must haves are!

  3. What you carry is so similar to what I carry in mine. Pirate's Booty is a great bribery tool at our house. Ha ha!

  4. Owen is the same way about eating. It's hard to get him to slow down to eat a meal. The best opportunity I have to feed him is when he is literally strapped down in his seat! Cute bag love that it's a backpack!

  5. I love seeing what other people carry around too. The thing I'm always missing is bandaids. I need to get better about that. I used to have a bag with all the essentials in it but then it got too heavy and bulky and I took it out, but I need to put it back!

  6. I discovered backpack diaper bags when my 2nd son was born and his "big" brother was just 18 months old. Hands-free is the way to go! We always need snacks for the kids (3 of them now), but I need to have ChapStick and Advil in my bag just for me! {client}

  7. I like that backpack style!! Good reminder to update/check what's in our bag, I think there may be a few NB diapers floating around, that's not going to help anybody..

  9. I love our backpack diaper bag too. I actually considered bringing it with me to Universal Studios when we go, even though Reed will be at home. I ended up getting another backpack from Target.
