Stitch Fix #3 & A Halloween Costume Party Link-Up!

I received my third Stitch Fix last week.  Since I was leaving the next day for a weekend away, I had to immediately try on and photograph all the pieces... please excuse my "day 2" hair!  I have to say that I was quite pleased with this "fix".  I liked most of the pieces and as for the one I didn't, I still understood why my stylist chose it.  I tried to include as much information as possible in hopes to help anyone that's considering trying it out.  If you do order a fix, I'd love it if you used my referral link :)  Here's what they sent me...

Kate Boyfriend Jean - Size 10 ($78)

Honestly, I was surprised when I saw a pair of jeans in my fix.  I had returned a pair of boyfriend jeans from a previous fix.  I'm not sure if I would have called these boyfriend jeans, but whatever they call them, I liked them.  My stylist suggested cuffing them to wear with ankle booties.  I think I need to practice, cause I'm not sure if I'm doing it right!  Are my cuffs to wide, am I making them too short... please give me advice!  While I practice, I figure that they would look cute un-cuffed with flats too.

Sammie Plaid Infinity Scarf ($34)

I love scarves and I don't have one in these colors.  I really love how it looks so "Fall"!  I also like that it's an infinity scarf that sits close to my neck.  I find some infinity scarves are a little loose and hang funny.  I decided to keep it :)

Gideon Polka Dot Sweater - Size Large ($68)

I liked how the sweater fit, even though I'm used to wearing looser and flowier sweaters.  I also liked that it was different than everything else in my closet... I usually choose solids or stripes, so the polka dot was different for me.  I wasn't sold on it initially, but the more I kept looking at the photos and after asking for some input, I decided I wanted to keep this sweater as well.

Ladera Open Cardigan - Size Large ($68)

I actually liked this sweater.  But the length of it makes me think I would wear it most with leggings as a loungewear type item.  And I'd rather spend less on something I will just be lounging in.  If I had liked the 5th piece, I probably would have kept this just to get the discount.

Lei Open Drape Cardigan - Size Large ($78)

While I really dislike this sweater and how it looks on me, I was actually optimistic about it when I saw it in the box.  I had pinned this sweater, so I know why my stylist chose it.  But it just added so much bulk to me and does nothing for me at all!  This is definitely going back!

Here's a breakdown of the items I received, how much they cost, and what I kept vs. returned:
Kate Boyfriend Jean - $78 (KEPT)
Sammie Plaid Infinity Scarf - $34 (KEPT)
Gideon Polka Dot Sweater - $68 (KEPT)
Ladera Open Cardigan - $68 (RETURNED)
Lei Open Drape Cardigan - $78 (RETURNED)

If you are interested in signing up for Stitch Fix, I would really appreciate it if you used my referral link!

  5. Love the jeans. I haven't tried Stitch Fix yet, I'll spend an arm and a leg on clothes for H but when it comes to me and I'm super cheap and it has to be on super sale! But I love my expensive purses...I make no sense.

  6. I think those are the same jeans that they sent me the distressed version of and I love them. I think the cuffs look great! I wear them cuffed with sandals a ton, but haven't tried it with booties yet. I'll do that next.
