The Adventure Starts Here: Nature Walk

Nature Walk

Yesterday, Noah and I went on a nature walk with my parents.  It was my dad's (Papa) birthday and it was really nice to spend the morning with him enjoying nature.  My dad loves to be outside and is quite the aficionado when it comes to names of the trees.  He tried to give Noah a few nature lessons but Noah was more interested in reading the map.  To make the walk even more enjoyable for Noah, I created a little "scavenger hunt" for him after I saw this post.  Noah was so excited to look for all the things on the list and kept saying "find more stuff".  I was impressed that he stayed engaged the entire time and walked the whole trail all on his own.  It's funny to look back at last year's nature walk when we has riding on Papa's shoulders and had super long hair (at least compared to now)!  I remember last year we were convinced he tried to say acorn, while this year he was naming everything we saw... I'm always amazed at how much changes in a year! Here are a ton of pictures of our morning out in nature...

^^^ finding acorns and bark from a tree

^^^ we spotted a bee

^^^ I loved seeing the changing leaves!

^^^ Noah loved seeing how high certain animals can jump!

^^^ We couldn't leave without leaving our mark... "Noah was here"

  2. SUCH a fun idea!!! I've seen a few people talk about this and I love it every time. We'd definitely have to go to the state park around here though because we don't really have too much nature around lol. LOVE the changing of the leaves! We just have dead leaves and its so sad. That's one thing I miss about living here, we don't really get seasons.

  3. Cute idea and so fun to do that with family! And GORGEOUS scenery! My parents keep Lawter a few days a week and tell me about long walks they go on and how much she loves them- I'm hoping to get some nice fall weekend weather to do the same with her! I love that she loves being outside!

  4. Aw yay! What a fun time and I love the scavenger hunt idea! I will definitely have to try that with Little J!

  5. I love these photos. What a beautiful area to spend the morning in.

  6. This is so fun! I am going to do this with Cam and his friends this weekend!

  7. What a beautiful trail! Im a little envious of your beautiful foliage in reds and golds!

  8. I love this idea and have been wanting to do one with Cam for a while now. I need to get one that.

  9. All those red leaves have me missing the east coast! It is so so beautiful this time of year!
