Fri-Yay!

Happy Friday!  After a super short week last week, we were back to normal this week!  Noah had school and swim, we met up with some friends, and I was able to do laundry and meal plan... it was a very productive week.  This weekend we have a couple of fun things planned, including Noah's birthday party and decorating some pumpkins!  Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy my "Five on Friday"...

ONE

I had to share a throw back picture of Noah and Chris in their Mets gear.  We took these photos back in April at the start of the season.  We do this every year and had no clue this would be the year they'd make it to the World Series!  Not sure what we'll do if the Blue Jays make it to the World Series as well... I will be one conflicted Canadian ;)  I wanted Noah to wear his Mets shirt yesterday to school, but he didn't want to.  But all on his own, he wanted to wear his baseball hat.  He was so excited to show his teacher, saying "Mrs. M likes my hat!" (even though she's actually a Yankees fan).  I had a huge laugh with his teacher about wanting to find a long sleeve Mets shirt for him but they probably don't make one since it's never really been an issue (since they rarely even make it to post-season when it gets cold lol)!

TWO

This week, I did some Halloween crafts with Noah.  I had planned to do them earlier this month, but every time I would ask him, he'd say no.  This surprised since he's usually so excited to do crafts (I never force him to craft lol), especially when paint is involved.  I guess he gets his painting fix while at school now.  So anyway, we finally did some crafts this week... painting a jack-o-lantern and a spider web.  For both, I used painters tape on card stock, let him paint, and then removed the paint to show the design.

THREE

When we were in Massachusetts visiting our friends, we found out they had outlets only 5 miles from their house!  Chris gets a really good employee discount at Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Van Heusen (to name a few), so we offered to let our friends use the discount and spend Sunday morning shopping.  We all got a bunch of stuff and the kids were entertained by jumping on benches, going on those quarter-run "mall rides", and saying goodbye with a group hug ;)

FOUR

This week, we met some friends at the zoo.  The zoo is currently under construction, but we didn't mind for multiple reasons.  It meant there were no school trips there, all the animals were still there (just in different places), and the boys liked looking at the diggers just as much as the animals.

Noah's favorite animal this trip, was the jaguar!  He was obsessed with watching it and loved when it came right by the glass!  So when we went to the carousel, he of course wanted to ride the jaguar.  Unfortunately it was taken, so Noah chose the bench for our first ride.  We rode a second time just so he could get the jaguar.  While Noah is super into riding the carousel, he is still hesitant about sitting on the animal unless I'm right next to him.  He went from total fear to pure joy once I came next to him for a selfie!

FIVE

I'm contemplating taking and sharing daily photos of my outfits.  I rarely dress up, since I am a SAHM to a 3 year old.   But I know I personally love seeing what other moms are wearing in real life, so I thought it might interest some of you too.  Let me know if it's something you'd like to see and maybe I can work on my outfit selfie skills!

I'm linking up with The Farmer's Wife and September Farm for "Oh Hey Friday"!

I'm also linking up with A. Liz Adventures for "Five on Friday".

  8. My husband would be all over that Van Husen discount!!! We have had that spider web craft pinned and on our to-do for so long now. I'm afraid we won't ever get to it. :( So glad ya'll did though. It is sooooo super cute. Speaking of preschool crafting at school....do you feel the crafts you with Noah are so much better than what they do at school? ;) I'm not gonna lie, I think so!
