I am constantly on the lookout for two new things for Noah... snacks that he likes and simple crafts to do!  So you can imagine my excitement when we found these Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies in the dairy section at Walmart.  Noah is already a huge fan of yogurt and he rarely turns down a smoothie.  Because of this, I was hopeful that he would love the Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies, but never could I have imagined how much he would love them!  From the very beginning, he was excited for the monkeys on the container, especially since we got the collector's edition and the monkeys were all dressed like different athletes!  He wanted to try one as soon as we got in the car, and then kept asking for more "monkeys" the entire ride home!

Noah still has an afternoon nap on a regular basis.  While I love this downtime, I still like to have an activity planned for him to do during the time between waking up and dinner time.  Most days, we do a craft.  I don't know about your kids, but Noah wakes up hungry!  I'm always looking for a simple snack to give him while we craft that will fill him up but won't ruin his dinner.  I love that Dannon® Danimals® provide "Only the Good Stuff®" so I feel good about Noah having them as his afternoon snack.  I consider it a win when I find a snack for Noah that not only doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors, but also provides a good source of calcium and vitamin D!  Clearly he's excited about these things too ;)

Noah is a huge fan of monkeys... he has one from Build-A-Bear and loves watching Curious George on TV. When I saw how excited Noah was about the monkeys on the containers, I knew we had to make a monkey craft!  We love making paper plate animals and it was definitely time to finally make a monkey... I honestly can't believe we hadn't made one before!

As with all of our crafts, it was super simple to make.  All you need is a paper plate, brown paint, some brown and cream construction paper (or cardstock), some googly eyes, glue, and a large popsicle stick.  Noah painted the paper plate brown, and then glued on a few pieces of cardstock that I cut out (an oval for the mouth, circles for the eyes, and some ears).  He then glued on some googly eyes and drew a smiley face with a black crayon.  He has been practicing making smiley faces on the glass shower door and for a while he would just draw a straight line... it was nice to see him draw an actual smile :)

I then attached a tongue depressor type stick to the back of the plate and Noah had his own little monkey mask!  He had so much fun hiding behind it and posing with his monkey friend... definitely one of our favorite crafts to date!

In addition to the super cool monkey athletes, there's another perk to getting the collector's edition of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies... a contest!  We were hoping to find the "Golden Bongo" bottle for a chance to win a Play60 Field Day with NFL pros!  Unfortunately we didn't win, but considering how much Noah loves these smoothies, I have a feeling we will have many more chances to win!  The Golden Bongo is part of the Dannon® Danimals® Play 60 Contest and is only located in specially marked packages.  You can go to the Fuel Up To Play site for more details.  Good Luck!

Now it's your turn, how do you entertain your kids in the afternoon?
