A High School "Reunion" | It's The Little Things

Social media is a pretty cool thing.  By staying in touch on Facebook, I was able to get together with some girls I knew in high school for a reunion of sorts.  Each of us recently had a baby (Noah being the oldest at 2 1/2 and the youngest at 8 months) and we had been liking each other's numerous photos of the babies.  We finally decided that it would be super fun and cute to get together and let the babies play (or at least sit in the same room).

We kept it simple... just a casual play date at my house, where everyone brought a different breakfast item.  I made an egg and sausage casserole, and we had muffins, scones, and fruit.  We ate out on the deck while the older kids played in the water and sand tables and the little babies played with toys on a blanket.  We then moved it inside when the kids decided they'd rather play with the toy kitchen.  While I wasn't able to take too many pictures of the actual action, we made sure to take a pretty decent group shot before the babies needed to go home for naps. It's pretty surreal to see friends I knew over 10 years ago, all grown up with babies of their own.

One of our friends couldn't make it last minute because her little baby had a 103 fever, but we made sure to send her pics (at her request) of our fun morning.  She was excited to get them, but sad at the same time that she had to miss out.  Thankfully, we've already planned a repeat reunion for next month!

As usual, I'm linking up with Jess for "It's the Little Things" link up!

  1. How fun!!! I love that you guys have stayed in touch over the years and have kids all around the same age and could get together for a playdate. You should make this a semi-annual or quarter-annual thing and get together again!
