It's The Little Things - Monkeying Around

I think I've mentioned it before, but Chris has a nightly ritual going on right now involving a monkey.  Noah picked out this monkey at Build-A-Bear in December and since then we can't keep this monkey from hiding all around the house ;)

It began with Chris just putting the monkey in Noah's high chair to surprise Noah.  Then as time went on, Chris became more creative and started putting the monkey into funny situation for Noah to find in the morning.

Noah LOVES coming downstairs every morning to find out where Daddy put the monkey.  Noah knew right from the beginning that Daddy is the one doing all this... can't put anything past this kid!  When Chris gets home from work, he immediately asks Noah where the monkey was in the morning, and Noah excitedly shows him :)

One thing we've learned though, is that Noah doesn't like when certain objects are out of place.  For instance, he did not like it when Chris put the monkey in his carseat (in the car).  The monkey belonged inside and had to be put back immediately.  Another time, Chris put the monkey onto Chris' little blue pillow (looks like a travel pillow) and Noah immediately said "No, Dada" and went to put the pillow back where it belonged.  This kid is very particular.

Recently, I've even been throwing out some ideas for Chris to do.  This is one of my personal favorites... the monkey wearing Noah's winter coat, hat, and Ugg boots.  Noah thought it was hilarious!

Another favorite of mine was on my birthday when Chris had the monkey (and all his friends) having a little party for me!

I really love how something as simple as moving a monkey around the house each night can make Noah so excited and happy!

Make sure to stop by Jess' blog for the link up!

  1. This is adorable! How fun that Chris does this every day! That is a big commitment. :-)

  2. This is so cute! I love that Chris does this for Noah in the mornings. Even though Daddy isn't home with him, he knows he was thinking of him and did something fun for him. Love!

  3. I am cracking up! We have that same monkey at our house. He's dressed differently, but he's the same monkey! :)
