Five on Friday

Finally we had a week with some nicer weather!  For those of you with mild winters, it won't seem like much, but this week was in the mid 40s and we even had one day in the mid 50s!!!  Unfortunately, they are calling for rain this weekend, which might ruin our St. Patty's Day Parade plans :(

Since this was the first week with decent weather, Noah and I took advantage of it and went out for a walk around the neighborhood.  I saw on Facebook that all my local friends with kids did the same exact thing... we've all been going stir crazy!  But just because the temps have risen doesn't mean the snow has melted yet :(  There were also A LOT of puddles on our walk... my shoes, socks, and pants were soaked when I got home!

I took Noah to the doctor on Tuesday morning.  His runny nose and cough came back and had gotten worse and Noah was complaining that his ear hurt.  It turned out that he had a double ear infection and the doctor prescribed him an antibioitc.  Coincidentally, my mom had just picked up this doctor kit for him so she brought it over that afternoon.  Noah is OBSESSED!  Not only have we all (Chris, my mom, and me) been his patients, but he's also enlisted George to play along ;)  I just have to mention that Noah is a champ with taking medicine.  No fights and his method reminds us of a college student downing a jello shot!

Last Summer, we got a Vitamix and Noah and I made smoothies every single day.  We took a little break in the Winter, but recently we've started back up again.  We usually have them when Noah wakes up from his nap.  I get all the fruits and veggies prepped on a plate and then Noah sits on the counter and puts everything into the blender.  Recently he's decided he doesn't like the mess of the orange or the banana, so now I have to put those in ;)  He then picks which color straw each of us gets and then we drink our smoothies while watching whatever kid show he chooses that day.

This week, we went to the mall with my mom.  I did a little shopping for myself and we also got Noah's feet measured.  We go about every 3 months and if his feet have grown we get him 2 new pairs of shoes.  He went from a size 8.5 to a 9, so we got him two new pairs of sneakers.  We got him Sperry's (that can be dressed up or down) and some Saucony sneakers.  Before heading home, we went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen after Noah specifically requested pizza (and said it so clearly!).

Noah and I made a little trip to Home Goods this week.  I didn't find what I originally went for, but we did find this super cute Adirondack chair!  Noah wanted the lime green one (the chair he's touching in the picture), but I talked him into the gray (told him it would go with more things!).  I originally intended on keeping the chair for the deck (when the snow melts), but he was adamant to use it right away to watch TV!

I'm linking up with The Farmer's Wife and September Farm for "Oh Hey Friday"

I'm also linking up with DarciAprilChristina and Natasha's blogs for their Five on Friday!

  1. Cute chair! Isn't it funny how they get something into their minds and then that is all that can be?! I never knew my negotiating skills would be honed to the 10th degree when I became a mom! :)

  2. He has the cutest hair! Glad you all were able to get out and about. Our weather has been nice the past few days and I've savored every minute of it!

  3. Is it just me or is he looking super big these days?! I feel like he looks like such a big kid in the picture of him in those shoes!
How cute he wants to use that chair inside to watch tv. Kids are so funny!
