Our weekend in Vermont

This past weekend, Chris took Friday off and we drove to Vermont.  My uncle was getting married and my whole family was going.  It's about a five and a half hour drive, but with a few stops Noah, it ended up taking us about seven hours.  We (my parents and brothers) all checked into the hotel around 5 and got ready for dinner.  We went to a hibachi restaurant down the street.  With 7 adults and 4 kids we prefer going to louder and more casual restaurants where we won't disrupt other patrons ;). This place was perfect!  It was the first time any of the kids had been to hibachi and they all seem fascinated by the show and the fire!  Noah sat on my mom's lap almost the entire time and just ate noodles :).

After dinner, we went back to the hotel to go swimming.  My brother and Chris were nice and took the kids in while the rest of us sat and watched.  By 8:30 both toddlers had enough and we took them up to bed.

On Saturday, we had the morning free before the wedding.  Chris found a little kids' museum/play place nearby called Imaginarium.  It wasn't anything fancy by any means, but the kids loved it.  They played in the toy kitchen/supermarket, put on puppet shows, did some construction work, and even climbed a rock wall.  Noah cried when it was time to leave.

^^^ even though they have a brother the same age, they are still obsessed with Noah and were fighting over who got to sit next to him!

We then had a quick lunch at Chipotle before heading out to the wedding.  While our hotel was in Plattsburgh, NY, the wedding was in Alburgh, VT... It was only about an hour drive.  The wedding was in my uncle's backyard and had to be under a tent because of the rain.  The cold weather and rain was a real bummer because I think the kids would have loved running around if the weather was better.  We made the best of it and bundled up as best we could.  I really loved my outfit but it was covered the entire time by my raincoat.  I probably should have ignored fashion and instead worn warm pants, my Northface, and some Ugg boots! Even so, it was great to see some of my cousins and for them to meet Noah.  Sometimes I wish we lived closer to family.

We had hoped to get some family photos outside with the tripod, but since the weather was so crummy, we had to settle for these...

We went back to the hotel Saturday evening and left first thing Sunday morning to head back to New Jersey.   On our way home, we stopped at some outlets to get Chris a new suit.  We also let Noah ride this digger!

And since we were in the car for most of the weekend, here are some fun pictures...

  1. Sounds like such a fun weekend!! So fun that you got to go to your uncles wedding and that your whole family was there. Noah looks like he had a blast playing with his cousins and they definitely had fun with him!
Even though that museum might not have been anything special, it looks like the kids had a blast! And possibly had the place to themselves? The contraction part looks super cool!
Also... I'm sure he's not, but is Noah drinking wine in one of those last pictures?? Or is that apple juice? :)
