Hoboken: Dinner and Live Music

Last Thursday, Chris left work a little early.  Noah and I picked him up at the train station and drove into Hoboken together.  Chris' Gram lives there now so we made plans to stop by her apartment.  The four of us then went to Chris' uncle's restaurant for dinner.  Chris' brother, Justin, also met us there.  We started off inside, but moved outside when Justin arrived with his dog.

After dinner, we walked down to the pier to meet up with some of Chris' coworkers.  The reason we came to Hoboken was because they have love music every Thursday night on the pier, and this week it was Chris' coworker's husband was playing.  The forecast was calling for thunderstorms, but the weather held and was perfect.  We got some drinks and sat on the pier listening to some great music.  It was pretty cool with the NYC skyline as the backdrop.  And it was even more special that the freedom tower was lit up and the Empire State Building was red, white, and blue for 9/11.

Thankfully Noah had a 3 hour nap that afternoon, because he was amazing!  He was in a great mood and really enjoyed being outside and listening to the music. We stayed until 9 and then headed home.  It should take us 45 minutes to get home, but with some unexpected construction we didn't get home until almost 11!  Noah had fallen asleep in the car but woke up when we were sitting in traffic and was not happy.  Thankfully he fell back to sleep quickly when we got home!  Despite the traffic and late night, I'm so glad we went!

  1. Sounds like so much fun!!! I love watching littles interact with their grand (or great-grand) parents! Such a special connection! It's always, to me, such a nervous adventure veering off routine with late nights and such but man it's so amazing when it works out to be so much fun!!!!

  2. That chambray shirt... to die for! Noah looks SO CUTE! I had been hesitant to get chambray for Mason, but after seeing Noah, I might need to! How special that you guys go to see Chris' grandma. I bet she was in heaven seeing you guys and definitely seeing Noah!
