Cleaning Schedule

Coming from a 2 bedroom apartment, I've always just cleaned when I felt it was needed.  It wasn't a huge space and it was fairly easy to keep on top of things.  If anything, the hard part was that everything didn't have a designated space, so it was more an organization problem than a cleaning problem.  Now that we have more square footage I will have more to clean.  There will be three levels to dust and vacuum, three bathrooms and a bigger kitchen to clean.  I am a list person and love to plan ahead, so I decided to come up with a cleaning schedule.  Obviously, I will be flexible if plans come up, but I'd like to try to get all the cleaning done during the week so we can enjoy our weekend.  Noah is also in that stage where he likes to help me, so I figure it could be a fun activity for us to do each day.  

I recently purchased some new cleaning caddies, microfiber cloths, and some new cleaning gear.  Maybe I'll do a post soon about my cleaning process, how I meal plan, and how I'm doing with the schedule.  

^^^ Noah loves to help clean so much that he uses the real vacuum and makes my dad (Grandpa) use his toy version!!!

Do you have a cleaning schedule?  Do you split the household chores with your husband?  Any tips on how to keep a clean house with a toddler?


  1. Oh girl you are WAY more organized than I... I'm lucky if these chores get done once a week! I am NOT a cleaner, I hate cleaning with every ounce of my being. My husband helps, we usually try to do the big jobs together on the weekends.

This is something I have always wanted to do, but have never gotten around to it. Our cleaning schedule is currently to get the house as messy as we possibly can throughout the week, and then clean like crazy people on the weekends, and I *HATE* it. I love your system! :)


  3. I don't know how many times I've made cleaning schedules for myself but I just can't make myself stick to them. I hope you have better luck than me!

  4. You are SO organized!!! I NEED to do this. I actually tried and failed miserably. Maybe if I make something I can check off, I will actually get it done???
