June Date

For Christmas, I gave Chris "A Year of Dates".  On Christmas, he opened a stack of envelopes, one for each month of 2014.  Inside the envelopes are pre-planned (and some pre-paid) dates for us to enjoy each month.  At the beginning of each month, we open the envelope and schedule a day to go on the date.   I will be recapping our dates each month.

Today we are closing on our new house!  I anticipate we will be very busy the next couple of weeks getting everything unpacked and all the rooms set up.  We decided to go on our June date this past weekend before everything got too crazy.  Chris and I went to see 21 Jump Street back in 2012 and thought it was hilarious.  So when I saw the preview for the new movie I knew we had to make this our June date!

We went on Saturday to the 4:15 showing.  I love going to earlier showings for two reasons.  One, it's not crowded and we get great seats, and two, it's easier to leave Noah with my mom when he's awake and playing rather than have her do nap or bed time.  I am in love with the new theater in our town.  It's connected to the Hyatt and when we first moved in it was a Clearview Cinemas and it was in definite need of renovations.  We still went there a lot because it was within walking distance and we could go to Free Movie Tuesdays with my in-laws' Comcast card.  About a year ago it closed and after a while it was bought by AMC and they started to do a bunch of renovations.  The theater now has the most comfortable seats ever!  They fully recline and you have the option of your two seats to be more like a couch with the arm rest up.  I actually prefer this theater to the dine in ones now because of these seats!

We got out of the movie at 6:30 and headed across the street to have dinner.  Pazzo Pazzo is an Italian restaurant in our town that has amazing outdoor seating.  Instead of just a few tables outside their restaurant, they have a huge patio section complete with a bar and an upstairs section for parties.   When we got to the restaurant and asked for a table for two outside, they asked if we had a reservation.  When I said no, they said they had a table for us, but we had to be done in an hour and thirty minutes because of other reservations.  We laughed and explained that wouldn't be a problem at all, we had a babysitter at home.  We were done in less than an hour!

We enjoyed their delicious bread and Chris got the Sam Adams Summer Ale and I got a glass of Reisling. Chris got Sautéed shrimp, sundried tomatoes and arugula and I got the handmade ravioli filled with spinach, prosciutto and ricotta cheese with a light tomato cream sauce.  We both loved our meals and cleaned our plates!  We were so full that we skipped dessert and I was glad we were walking home!

While we were gone, my mom sent us some pictures of Noah.  He was so proud to show my mom the strawberries he picked and he led her over to the fridge to show her them!  They also had fun building trains!

Another successful date this month in my book.  So far I'm really enjoying getting out each month with just Chris.  It's a totally different experience going out to eat without Noah, so much more relaxing ;)
