Father's Day Weekend Recap

Just like Mother's Day, we were able to celebrate with both of our families this Father's Day Weekend!   Noah and I also wanted to make sure Chris felt special and knows how much we love him.  Noah gave him his gifts early.  Chris loved the personalized cards and the platter Noah painted for him.  He also loved the picture of Noah in his Penn State jersey.  About a month ago when I was picking out what Noah would wear for his 18 month pictures, Noah grabbed his Penn State jersey from the closet.  I decided it would be a cute outfit change, but never told Chris about it or showed him the results.  Instead, I decided to give him (and his dad) a framed copy of the picture.

^^^ just like Mother's Day, we had our friend, Ken, make these I LOVE GRANDPA and I LOVE GRANDDAD shirts for Noah to wear.

On Saturday, a friend of my in-laws was having their annual picnic, and this year we went as well.  We drove a little over an hour down to their farm and spent the afternoon outside.   Their property is huge and they had so many activities set up.   I think the highlights of Noah's afternoon were ice cream from the ice cream truck, trying his hand at a bunch of different sports (more on that this Wednesday), and playing in and going for a ride in the golf cart!  There was a DJ at the picnic, so we also had some impromptu dance parties.

^^^ Dance party #1 - in the car on the way to the picnic

^^^ Noah gave Granddad a planter that he painted and put his handprints on :)

^^^ Dance party #2 - had to stop while walking and dance with Nonna!

^^^ Noah had so many sweets this afternoon... he was in heaven!

^^^ Noah loved playing with all the leaves, but this one Nonna found took the cake!

^^^ This little girl was very much into Noah and the heart on his shirt.  Noah however, was not interested in her at all.  Look at the stink eye he's giving her!

^^^ back to the golf cart... and some fun family selfies!

^^^ I love the two of them drinking their water... Noah was obsessed with drinking from the bottle on his own!

^^^ the groundskeeper even took Noah and Granddad for a ride!

^^^ Noah then took the camera and got some pictures of Chris... he really is the best dad!

I told Chris that we could spend Sunday morning however he wanted.  We could go out to breakfast (like we did for Mother's Day), go to the park, or spend the morning at the pool.  I was not surprised when he picked the pool (it's his favorite thing to do with Noah).   We woke up Sunday and our weather app said it was only 69.  We thought that was a little chilly for the pool, and instead got ready to walk to the playground.  As soon as we got outside, we realized it was definitely warm enough for the pool and went back to change.  I'm so glad we did, because we had so much fun at the pool!

After Noah's nap, we met my parents at a playground in our new neighborhood.  I will be posting more about that trip later this week, but for now I'll share a sneak peek of the boys on the swings!  We then went over to my parents' house for dinner.   Apparently the Cheesecake Factory is becoming a tradition for our family, since we got it on Mother's Day as well.   Noah gave Grandpa his gifts (a picture frame and flower pot) and my dad just happened to have some flowers on hand.  Noah loved helping plant the flowers in the pot and watering the flowers!  A huge difference from last year when Noah just sat and watched my dad plant the flowers!

^^^ having fun with hats!

Congratulations if you made it to the end of this post... it was a long one!  I hope you all had a fantastic Father's Day weekend!

  5. Sounds like such a fun weekend! I am seriously impressed Noah can drink out of a water bottle without spilling! Mason can (with help) but if I gave him the whole, full water bottle, we would all need a change of clothes! lol
