Liebster Award

Courtney at Sweet Turtle Soup nominated me for a Liebster Award.  It's a great way to recognize small blogs that are up and coming and learn a little more about the bloggers.  I love blogging about my life, especially Noah, and it's nice to know other people enjoy my blog and be acknowledged for it... thanks Courtney!  I've seen this done a few ways, but these were the rules that were presented to me when nominated.

The rules:
1. Thank the blogger that nominated you.
2. Answer the 11 questions given by the blogger who nominated you.
3. Nominate 5-11 bloggers with fewer than 200 followers and give them questions to answer.

1. How did you come up with your blog name?  It's kind of funny... originally my I didn't really have a real blog name, it was just "The Flinn Family".  I started this blog to document my engagement, wedding, and life as a married couple (and then family).  But when Noah was about 6 months old (I think), he had this shirt that says "The Adventure Begins".  When we'd go out to run errands or meet someone for lunch, I would always tell him that we were going on an adventure.  So I decided that it had to be part of my blog name.
2. What is your favourite colour this spring?  I would have to say that my favorite color is and always has been purple.  However, this spring I seem to be drawn to royal blue shirts, so maybe that's my favorite color now?
3. How many kids did you picture having before you actually had any? Did that number change post baby?  Growing up, I always thought I'd have 4 kids.  But then we realized we'd have to do fertility treatments to get pregnant and I realized that 4 kids is a lot considering.  I didn't have the easiest pregnancy either, so we've decided that we will be done with 2 kids (god willing), or should I say 2 pregnancies (since multiples are pretty common).
4. What is your favourite cereal?  I go through phases where I eat the same cereal for months and then one day I'm over it and want a new cereal.  I once was really into Kashi, and since the boxes are kind of small, my husband stocked up on them so I'd never run out mid week.  When I decided I didn't like it anymore he ended up eating our bulk supply.  Right now, I'm into Multigrain Cheerios.
5. What is your favourite part about blogging?  I love being able to talk about an array of interests.  While my son has really consumed my life, and I talk about him a lot on the blog, it's also fun to delve into my other interests.  I've always been into decorating and organizing, but found it hard to blog too much about it since we live in an apartment.  I'm excited to have more posts about those topics once we move into our new house.   I also LOVE the blogging community.  It's a great place to meet other people with similar interests even if you live across the country!
6. Are you a sweets or salty snacker?  I'm definitely a sweets girl.  My favorite is ice cream... I will never turn it down!
7. What is the first blog you started following?  I think it was Little Baby Garvin or Schue Love.  I found them while I was trying to get pregnant and loved following their weekly bump updates.
8. What are you looking forward to the most this summer?  Lots of things!  Moving into our new house, taking morning walks with Noah before it gets too hot, spending our weekends at the pool, etc.
9. Finish this sentence: I can't help but smile when...  Noah comes over and gives me a big hug.  He can be a handful some days, but when he gives me an unsolicited hug, it melts my heart!
10. If you could do anything with your hair right now, what would you do?  I really don't know! I'm that person who gets bored, cuts her hair short, and then a few months later wants long hair again and spends the next many months growing it out again.  Currently I have the ombre look, and I'm wondering if I should continue it or switch it up.  I look back at pictures when I had bangs and it was super dark and consider doing that again.  Then I remember that I had more time to do my hair then. 11.  What is your guilty pleasure?  Maybe the kind of books I like.  I'm a 30 year old who prefers reading books geared for teenagers.  I don't like anything too serious, I prefer books like Harry Potter, The Divergent Series, and most recently I read The Fault in Our Stars.  Other than "Youth" books, I also like to read romance novels every once in a while.  I love a good quick read :)

Now it's my turn to nominate some blogs and ask some questions :)

For my nominees, these are blogs that I read on a regular basis...

Questions:
1.  How did you come up with your blog name?
2.  What's the first thing on your bucket list?
3.  If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
4.  Describe your perfect day.
5.  How did you meet your husband?
6.  What's your favorite food?
7.  What's the last book you read?
8.  What's your favorite TV show?
9.  When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up?
10.  If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
11.  What's your favorite season?

I had so much fun answering my questions and I can't wait to read my nominees' answers!

  1. Yay! Thanks for answering! Loved reading this =) I love your blog name story. When I was getting married I was trying to come up with something involving adventure on our rings...here's to our adventure or something, but it was all too long. But, it still totally pulls me there! Funny, I'm the same way with cereal...cereal moods! Unsolicited out of the blue hugs are the best...esp from behind around your legs, those are my fave =) I'm with you on YA and chick lit! I usually go with the quick fun and easy reads...who has time for more?! I loved The Mortal Instruments series, in case you are in the market.

  3. Love this! And THANK YOU for nominating me! And I so agree. I love the blogging community and getting to "interact" and "meet" people from all over. I feel like I know you even though we've never met! The only downside is that I wish we lived closer so our kids could play!
