Five on Friday

Last week, I mentioned that Chris and I just bought a house.  We will be moving in at the end of June.  Since we are coming from a smaller apartment, there is a good amount of furniture/decor that we will need to buy for the new house.  So far I've been having fun designing the rooms in my head and picking out furniture online.  I'm limiting myself to only ordering the big items now and waiting on decor choices for once we've moved in.  But to be honest, my head is spinning with all the ideas I have!  As usual, I'm linking up with DarciAprilChristina and Natasha's blogs for their Five on Friday!

The first thing I knew we'd need to get was a dining room set.  Right now, we have a small table from Ikea that really only sits 2 people comfortably.  We knew we needed a new table, and we decided that since our dining room is pretty big, that we would get a table that could extend very long with some leaves.  While most of the time, it is just the three of us, I would love to host some holidays and have our families over.  First I went to Raymour & Flannigan, but all the tables I liked could only fit 8 at most.  I ended up finding a table we loved at Crate & Barrel, and with the three leaves, it can fit 12-14 people!  We ordered the table, chairs, and the matching sideboard.  We just have to arrange delivery once it gets closer.   No I need to decide what to hang above the sideboard.  I'm torn between a mirror, artwork, family pictures, or shelves.

The first floor has wood floors, so we will need to buy an area rug for the living room and the dining room.  So far, we've found a rug that we like for the dining room.  Thankfully, it went on sale last week, so we immediately found an extra coupon and ordered it.  It's backordered until July, but not a big deal since we will have only just moved in.

We've also decided to set Noah's "big boy" room up right away in the new house.  He already sleeps in our bed with us anyway, so this way when he wakes up, I can bring him into his future room and we can both sleep in his full size bed.  My mom got him these sheets and quilt.   I plan to decorate his room in red (his favorite color) and navy.

With our new house, we will finally have a deck and a backyard.  After looking at Home Depot and Costco for patio furniture, we ended up going to a family owned store that Chris' parents recommended, called Eber's.  Their stuff is definitely on the pricier side, but like Chris' mom told us, go straight to the clearance section.  I'm so glad we went, because we were able to find this set that looks like wood but is actually made of recycled plastic (think milk jugs).

^^^ doesn't Noah look ready for some Summer BBQs!?!

And our backyard wouldn't be complete without a grill.  Chris' parents have generously offered to buy a grill for us.  We think we will end up getting a Weber grill just like they have.  We just have to go pick it out :)
