Miami - Day 4

I hope you've enjoyed these recaps (Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3).  I've enjoyed reminiscing about our vacation :)  Friday was our last day in Miami and unfortunately it had rained over night and it was a little chilly in the morning.  We had to check out at 11 am, and we had hoped to go to the pool, but with the weather, we decided to skip the pool and just go for another walk instead.   We got another fruit platter for breakfast, and then finished packing up all our stuff and checked out.

We were gonna go to a children's museum, but Noah fell asleep in the car.  So we decided to skip the museum, and just go back to the Lincoln Road Mall.  We walked around a little bit before going to Shake Shack for lunch.  We love Shake Shack in New Jersey, so when I found out they had one in Miami, we knew we had to go.  We are used to crazy long lines here, so we got there right at 11:30 when they open.  I guess it's not as popular in Miami, because the lines were totally reasonable.  We got a great table outside and we ordered a lot of food. I'd love to say it was too much food, but we ate it all!  Chris got a special frozen custard, called the Vice Crispy Treat, that they only sell at the Miami Beach location!  It was vanilla custard with rice kris pie treats and marshmallow topping.  Chris let me have a few bites and it was AMAZING!

After lunch, we got in the car and headed to the Miami Zoo (which isn't really in Miami lol).   Noah was free and the hotel gave us some coupons for our tickets, so it turned out to be a really affordable afternoon.  We only had 2 hours there, so we didn't get to see a lot, but we did go to the Children's Zoo and got through Asia and a little bit of Africa.  My favorite animal is the elephant, so I was excited to see a lot of elephant statues and an Asian elephant.  Chris asked me what the difference between Asian and African elephants, and I remembered  Bubble Guppies having an episode about elephants and that Asian elephants have smaller ears than African elephants.  Even I'm learning new things from Noah's TV shows ;)

We would have loved to spend more time at the zoo, but we had to leave for the airport.  We had to fill up the gas tank, return the rental car, and get through security.  Thankfully everything happened really smoothly, and we got to our gate with time to spare.  We ate a light dinner and got Noah ready for the flight.  Noah had only napped for 45 minutes in the morning, so I hoped he'd nap on the flight.  He exceeded my expectations and was asleep before we even took off and slept the whole flight!  He literally woke up as we walked off the plane :)

Our vacation was amazing and I'm so glad we could make these memories as a family.  This vacation was technically for my 30th birthday, and I really couldn't have asked for a better gift!
