Miami - Day 3

Thursday was our third day in Miami Beach.  We planned for another day spent at the hotel pool and beach.  Noah woke up pretty early each day, so we had to keep him entertained in our little room.  Thank goodness for Bubble Guppies on the iPad!

Thursday morning, it was a little cloudy first thing, and the forecast was calling for a chance of rain.  We were worried it might ruin our plans, but thankfully it didn't.  Since the sun wasn't out in full force yet, we decided to take a walk along with board walk first thing.  Our hotel was right on the beach, and had direct access to the board walk.  We went on a nice long walk, and Noah fell asleep on the way back.

Noah woke up, and it was time to go meet our visitors for the day.  My brother's in-laws live in Florida (near Ft. Lauderdale).  Chris had already met Trisha's (my sister-in-law) parents, but he had not met Rick (her brother) and his family yet.   I reached out to Allison (Rick's wife) and made plans for them to come hang out by the pool.  They brought their two youngest kids (the older two were in school) and the kids had fun playing in the pool.  We then all enjoyed lunch by the pool.  I'm so jealous they get to enjoy warm winters every year!

After lunch, they left because they had to meet the older kids when they got home from school.  We headed down to the beach.  I got to relax a little while Chris played in the sand with Noah.

We had to keep with tradition by writing in the sand and taking pictures of Noah.

It was all fun and games until Noah threw sand in my face with his shovel.

Then it was time for another afternoon nap.  I stayed with Noah and Chris went out exploring Miami Beach.

Originally we had a reservation at a steakhouse, but since we planned to go to Ruth's Chris when we got back, we decided to change our plans.  We cancelled our reservation and instead walked over to Ocean Drive.  We walked up and down and Chris would check reviews of some of the restaurants.  None of them had great reviews and they all seemed a little too loud for Noah.  Instead, we found an Italian restaurant one street over that had great reviews.  Spiga was delicious and it was so nice to eat outside.  Noah lost interest pretty quickly, so we weren't able to stay for dessert.

Instead, we stopped for some gelato on the way back to the parking garage.  We had no clue until we walked inside, but it was the same gelato place that the Jersey Shore cast worked at during Season 2 back in 2010.  I got a nutella and waffle cone gelato and Chris shared a melon gelato with Noah.

And we finished the evening with Noah playing with my hair dryer, his new favorite toy!

In case you missed it, here are the recaps of Day 1 and Day 2.
