Five on Friday

It seems like Noah and I spent a lot of this week inside.  We had 2 snow days where our plans were cancelled.  Tuesday, we had his 15 month check up in the morning, and since I never know how he will respond to the shots, I made no plans for the rest of the day.  Let's just say that I'm ready for Spring so we can do more things out of the apartment!  Enough about that, here's my random list for today's installment of Five on Friday!

Today is the 5 year anniversary of my first date with Chris!  Chris and I met through his mom.  She works at the dentist that I went to (and still go to) and in January 2009, after my cleaning, she asked me if I was seeing anyone.  She then asked if she could give her son my phone number.  I also gave my email, and we started chatting shortly after that.  Our first date was dinner at McCormick and Schmicks and then to see a movie.  Not much was out at the time, so I'm embarrassed to say that we saw "He's Just Not That Into You"… odd first date movie, I know!  The funny thing is that February 7th is also the date of my parents' first date… what a weird coincidence!  This picture is from a wedding we went to in June 2009.   Chris was the best man and I hung out with his parents and good friend for most of the wedding.  I guess I really liked him ;)

I've seen a lot of people buzzing about this new Waterlogue app that turns photos into watercolor paintings.  I loved the look, so I had to give it a try.  I definitely find it works better with scenic shots or where the person isn't looking.  I don't think it does a great job with the details of a person's face.  This is from Fall 2013, and my mom is showing Noah the fall leaves in my parents' front yard.

This past weekend we went to dinner at Chris' parents' house.  Chris' brother, Justin, ended up coming over with his dog too.  Noah decided he was going to show off and do a ton of walking during our visit.  He was also fascinated by Louie (the dog) and kept wanting to go near him.  He would go to pet him, but then look a little startled when Louie would move.  I'm not sure if he thought Louie was a stuffed animal.

I've seen this cart used on a few blogs and I also saw it during my last trip to Ikea.  While I don't have a need for it right now, I think it is beyond adorable.  Maybe I'll have to come up with a purpose for it when we move!  Any suggestions???

My new favorite snack is these Nutella and breadstick to go packs.  My mom had some and I immediately fell in love!  They are the perfect pick me up in the afternoon after Noah has made a huge mess of his toys (see the background).  I usually end up giving Noah a few of the breadsticks and he's in heaven!

Make sure to check out DarciAprilChristina and Natasha's blogs for their Five on Friday!

  1. Visiting from the link up. Excited to start following your blog. :) That cart would be to organize art and crafts for Noah.

  2. Wow Nutella pack! what a great idea!

  3. Stopping by from the link up. My husband and I also went on our first date in February (7 years ago) and saw an awkward movie. Because of the times we ended up in Reno 911 and I just about died from embarrassment! Happy first date-aversary :)
