Baby Noah - Week 43

^^^ This week's photo shoot was football themed.  We recently bought Noah this Penn State jersey and couldn't wait to get some pictures of him in it with the football!  He loved it and liked pretending it was a drum.  That tough face (that he did completely on his own) combined with those huge shoulders (doesn't it look like there are pads in them!?!) was just perfect and priceless!  Penn State's football season starts tomorrow, and Chris is going to the game at Giants Stadium with his parents, brother, and my brother and sister-in-law.  I am staying home and helping my mom (and dad) watch all 4 grandkids!

Weight:  Around 25 lbs.

Health:  I think the teething pain is getting better.  I hope that translates into better sleep soon!

Sleep:  Sleep is the same.  I've gotten used to waking up with him around 2 or 3 and then up for good by 6:30.  I'm so thankful for Chris getting up with Noah when he wakes up before midnight.

Clothes:  I just ordered some fall clothes in size 18-24.  I figure unless he all of a sudden stops growing like he usually does, they will fit him when the weather gets colder.   This jersey is size 24M!

While Chris is a Mets fan (and hopes that Noah will be one too), Grammy is a Yankees fan.  She picked up this t-shirt for Noah, so we decided to get a picture of him wearing it!

Social:  This past weekend, while Chris was at the Giants football game, Noah and I went to dinner with my parents and Luke & Tyler.   Even though we had just been there the week before with Chris' parents, we went back to Guerriero's.  My parents had never been and we wanted to take Tyler for some good Italian food.  Noah still loves their meatballs!

I was bad at taking pictures during the week, but on Monday, we met my mom and Luke & Tyler again for lunch.  On Tuesday, we hosted the MOMS play date and had 4 other little kids at our apartment to play.

On Wednesday, my mom came over to watch Noah so that I could meet Chris in the city to celebrate our anniversary.

Chris took a half day on Thursday and came home to hang out with us.  We went to The Taco Truck (a new restaurant down the street) for dinner.

Diet:  I'm really making an effort to feed Noah more real food.  I still give him the pureed food so that I know he got a balanced meal, but I also try to give him a taste of whatever I'm having.  I was eating ice cream the other day, and he came over to me making the cutest/most pathetic little begging noise, so I of course gave in and let him try some.  He's definitely my son, and LOVED the ice cream!

^^^ I gave him one of my raviolis... it's amazing how long it can take a baby to eat 1 ravioli!

Baby Gear Love:   We love toys that have a secret identity.  The stacking toy that doubles as a microphone!

And books that are also great pillows for TV watching!

Daddy Time:   Chris was gone most of last Saturday with taking the car in for maintenance and then going to the pre-season Giants vs. Jets game.  I jokingly asked him when my turn was to go out for the day by myself.  Right away he said, whenever I wanted I could go out and he would hang out with Noah.  So on Sunday, I left for a couple of hours.  Chris and Noah had fun, but unfortunately Noah would not nap for him like he should have.

^^^ Chris had to work late on Monday and Tuesday, and since Noah was gonna be asleep by the time he got home, he face timed with Noah before bed.

Milestones:   Noah can now officially stand up on his own in his crib and by grabbing onto furniture!  Monday morning I was surprised to see Noah standing and banging on the crib railing when I came to get him!  That day I thwarted his fun by lowering the crib mattress again!

Likes:    Noah likes to move... crawl, stand, and walk (holding onto my hands).

I do airplane with Noah, and he seems to like it!

Noah still loves bath time with Daddy!

Mommy:  On Sunday, I went to get a manicure and pedicure.  It was beautiful out... I really enjoyed driving with the windows down and the sunroof open!  The simple pleasures in life!

Happy 43 Weeks Noah!

3

Today is our 3rd Wedding Anniversary.  3 has always been my favorite number.  I was born on the 3rd day of the 3rd month.  And now we have been married for 3 years and we are a family of 3.  Things are perfect!  Happy Anniversary Chris, I love you!  I can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries!

Wedding Month - Our Honeymoon

This is the last of the wedding posts (since tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary!).  The very next day after our amazing wedding, we left for our honeymoon.  We went to Italy for 10 days, visiting Venice, Florence, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast.  I had been to Italy before, but Chris had never been before!

Our first stop was Venice, Italy. We had amazing weather, and it was the perfect place to start our honeymoon.  In my opinion, there isn't as much to "see" in Venice.  Instead you get to enjoy just wandering the streets, getting lost, taking water taxis and gondolas, and taking long lunches.  This was perfect since we were a little jet lagged and tired from all the wedding festivities, so it let us relax a little before getting super busy with touristy things!

We then took a train to Florence.  We stayed in this amazing hotel in the heart of Florence.  It was the perfect home base for all the things we had planned!  We did a sightseeing bus tour, went to the Uffizzi, and even went on a vespa wine tasting tour (yeah doesn't it sound safe to combine driving vespas for the first time ever with wine tasting...)!

After a few days, we took another train to Rome.  I had already done all the usual sightseeing tours in Rome when I went in 2007, but I have to say it's amazing how you can forget the details so quickly.  I thought I'd find the tours a little boring the second time, but going to the Vatican again and seeing the Sistine Chapel was interesting even the second time around.  We also tried to plan something new (to me) in each city we went to.  In Rome, we took an "Angels and Demons" tour that was pretty fun.  They took us all over the city in a bus showing us all the locations where the clues were in the book/movie.

Our final stop on our honeymoon was the Amalfi Coast.  I was excited for this because I had never been there before either!  We booked a hotel in Naples, which I would not suggest doing.  The hotels along the Amalfi Coast were so expensive and since we already splurged on our Florence hotel and we were only going to be there 2 days, we decided to take a chance and stay in Naples.  Honestly, since the train ride is only 2 hours from Rome, I would have preferred to stay in Rome and take the train down each day.  The first day we were there we hired a drive to pick us up at the train station and take us along the Amalfi Coast.  I'm so glad we did this because we didn't have to worry about the windy roads along the coastline and instead enjoyed the views.  He also had suggestions on where to go in each town and brought us to an amazing family owned restaurant with no real menu for lunch.  It was one of the best meals we had all vacation.  We ended our trip by going to Pompeii and "hiking" up Mt. Vesuvius.
