Baby Noah - Week 50

Weight:  25 lbs 15 oz.  When we were at the doctor's office for Noah's flu shot, I asked if I could weigh him.  It was with his clothes on, so he's probably a little less, but it was nice to get a more accurate weight.

Health:  Last Friday, I took Noah back to the doctor because his cough wasn't sounding any better and had actually gone from a dry cough to a wet one.  We saw our normal doctor and he said that Noah had croup but that it was better now (that's what the wet cough means).

The doctor also said that in addition to Noah getting his 3rd and 4th top teeth, that he's cutting his molars as well... oh yay!

Sleep:  It seems that Noah is transitioning to one nap now.  Every once in a while he will take 2 good naps, but for the most part he will only sleep 30 minutes in the morning (if we are in the car) and take a longer nap in the afternoon. Right now though the timing of his naps are all over the place.  Yesterday he napped from 1:30-3:30, but Tuesday and Wednesday he didn't go to sleep until 3:30/4 and it really messed up his bed time!

^^^ Noah no longer enjoys our photo shoots when we try to make him sit still!

Clothes:  We finally figured out that Noah wears Gap size 18-24 pants in the baby section but size 12-24 in the toddler section.

Social:   On Sunday we went to my parents' house after our trip to the farm.  We went to pick up a few things and drop some party supplies off and ended up hanging out for a little while.

On Monday evening, we headed up to Union City for Chris' Aunt Colleen's 60th Birthday Party.  They have an AMAZING view of NYC from their front door!  Noah was able to meet a lot of family members at this party... he has now met all of his great aunts and uncles on Chris' dad's side and a couple more of Chris' cousins.

On Tuesday, we had a little birthday celebration with the MOMS club.  There are 5 kids that turn 1 in October and November.  So we arranged a little play date to celebrate.

^^^ sorry for the blurry picture... but Noah even got to try a cupcake at the party

Diet:  Noah is definitely eating more meals and less bottles.  Some meals he eats almost all real food, while at other times we still rely a lot on the baby food.  This week he had scrambled eggs (I know... I should wait til he's a year) and ate a lot of watermelon and yogurt melts.  He also had his first Oreo... it was the vanilla/golden kind.  We were eating them and he came over begging for one.  So I gave it to him and he actually took a bite.  Then all on his own he proceeded to split the cookie in half and eat the cream... just like the commercials!

Baby Gear Love:   It's technically a birthday present, but we got Noah this ball pit this week!  It only came with 20 balls, and from the reviews we knew that wouldn't be enough.  So we made sure to order extra balls to fill it up.  We have a bunch more, but so far we have 100 balls in the pit and it just barely covers the bottom.  Once he's bigger we may add some more.

Daddy Time:   Noah and Chris had their swim class on Saturday.  There were only 3 kids this past week because of the long weekend.

Saturday afternoon, Chris and Noah had a true Daddy Noah day!  I met my friend, Marlaina, for lunch and a manicure/pedicure, and Chris hung out with Noah.  I packed Noah's bag before I left, but Chris got Noah ready and walked to the playground.  They went on the swings for a little while and then stopped at the grocery store on the way home.  I'm so glad the weather was nice so they could go outside rather than being cooped up inside all afternoon.

Saturday night, Noah decided he didn't want to go to sleep.  So instead, he stayed up with us and watched the end of the AMAZING Penn State vs. Michigan game!  While watching the 4 OTs we realized that Noah was dressed in Michigan colors, and the shirt says Undefeated and #18, which is what Michigan's record and ranking was!  Thankfully Penn State still ended up winning!

Milestones:   Noah was bitten this week.  It wasn't the first time and it probably won't be the last.  Noah cried, but he got over it fast.

Likes:   Noah's new thing is sticking his tongue out to the side.  He does it NONSTOP now!  He started doing it Sunday evening and since then almost every picture I take has him with his tongue out.  Chris and I decided to get a picture of us doing it with him ;)

Mommy:  It was really nice to get out for an entire afternoon on Saturday.  I had always planned to go get a pedicure, but last minute I decided to see if my best friend was free.  Since she was, we decided to make an afternoon out of it and go to lunch as well.  We often get together, but we always bring Noah with us (since we usually go during the week before Chris is home from work).  So it was a nice change of pace to be able to do more adult things.

Happy 50 Weeks Noah!
