Surprise Parties and Brunch

We had a very busy weekend.  We skipped Noah's swim class since he still has a runny nose, but we still had lots to do.  On Saturday, we went to my friend, Jill's Surprise 40th Birthday Party!  Her birthday isn't until the end of the month, but her husband surprised her with a backyard BBQ with all her friends and family.  We were a little nervous about the weather since it was an outside party and it was raining when we were driving there, but thankfully the rain stopped and the sun came out right as we got there!  She had no clue about the party and was very surprised when she walked into the backyard and saw us all there.  They had a trampoline and little tikes bouncy house set up for the kids to play in.  And of course Noah was a perfect angel and everyone thought he was super cute :)

On Sunday, we drove to Hoboken to meet some friends for brunch at the Elysian Cafe.  We met Brad and Dara on a cruise back in December 2009.  Back then, Chris and I had just recently gotten engaged and Brad and Dara were still finishing veterinary school and dating.  My how things have changed... we now have Noah and they just got married this past year.  It really doesn't seem like 3 1/2 years ago since we saw them!   Noah took to Dara immediately and reached out for her to hold him.  He sat on her lap for the majority of the time... it was so cute!  He even shook Brad's hand when they left!

Uncle Justin (and Louie) met up with us after brunch and we walked over to a nearby playground and then by the water.  The weather was amazing, so it was nice to spend the afternoon walking around outside.  We even stopped at a food truck for some frozen banana (kind of like ice cream).  Since it was just banana, we let Noah have some too... I think he liked it!
