Baby Noah - Week 18

Weight:  About 17 1/2 lbs.

Health There was one day that I was convinced he was teething, but now I'm not sure.  But all in all he is a very happy and healthy boy.

Sleep:   Noah is a great sleeper at night.  This week he was a little off with naps, but since he's happy, I'm okay with that.  Tuesday, he didn't really have an afternoon nap, and as a result fell asleep for the night at 6pm.  Chris was really bummed cause he didn't get to spend any time with him.  I was convinced he'd wake up in the middle of the night, but he slept through til 5:30!

Clothes: Almost all 6-12 though he still fits into a few random 3-6 outfits.    He is also in size 3 diapers now.

Social We went to my parents' house on Saturday for dinner since it was my birthday.

On Sunday, my mom watched Noah so that Chris and I could go out to dinner just the two of us for another birthday celebration!  Like we always do, we went to Ruth's Chris.

On Tuesday, the weather was GORGEOUS, so my mom and I took him out and we went to the mall for some shopping and lunch.  Noah was the perfect baby (like always)!

Diet:  On Monday, we started Noah on cereal.  First, we tried rice cereal and he seemed to really like it! We did three days of that (to make sure he doesn't have a reaction) and then on Thursday morning we tried oatmeal.  Boy does Noah seem to love oatmeal (which I expected, from what I've heard about other babies).  Starting next week, we are gonna start feeding him some sort of cereal at breakfast and dinner.  The doctor said after 2 weeks we can introduce vegetables and fruit, and I think that's when I'll start feeding him 3 times a day.  Other than that, he still drinks all formula and now averages between 28-32 oz a day.

Baby Gear Love:   We had taken this out when Noah was only a few weeks old and he just lied there.  But now that he's more active, he loved pulling at all the animals that dangle.  It's nice to have another toy that occupies him for about 15-20 minutes so I can get some things done.

Crying:  While I would describe Noah as a very happy baby, when he does cry, I feel so bad for him.

Milestones:  When Noah was born, we were told that he was tongue tied.  As a result, he wasn't really able to stick his tongue out very far.  Well this week, he all of a sudden started sticking it out all the time.  I'm not sure if it's because his tongue has stretched or if it has to do with him starting to eat food, but it's hilarious!

Likes:   Now that he's able to stick his tongue out, he seems to really like doing it!

He also really likes chewing/sucking on his hands.

Postpartum:   This week I decided I need to get serious about dropping the rest of this pregnancy weight.  My mom came over on Wednesday to watch Noah so I could go to the gym.  I also took Noah for a little walk on Monday, and we walked a lot at the mall on Tuesday.  I figure every little bit helps considering I've been very lazy sedentary for a while now.

    Happy 18 Weeks Noah!

  1. Happy birthday! Glad you got to sneak away for a date :)

  2. I had a baby that was born tongue tied also. It broke loose (the skin recedes or literally breaks) at about 5 months old. She just suddenly started playing with her tongue and lips one day. I'm so glad. I didn't want to have to have it be clipped and I didn't want it to affect her speech.

    1. That's sound exactly like my son. I didn't want to have it clipper either so I'm glad it looks like it fixed itself on its own!
