Baby Noah - Week 17

Weight:  After 2 months of guessing his weight, we had the official weigh in at the doctor today.   Noah weighs 17 lbs 6 oz and is 26 inches long (though the scale says 17 lbs 7 oz since he was kicking then).  He's in the 75th percentile for both height and weight.

Health Noah has been doing great.  We went for his 4 month doctor's appointment today.   Noah is doing great and the doctor said we can start him on food.  While we were waiting for the nurse, Chris entertained Noah by arm wrestling him... Noah won every time :)  At the end of the appointment he got his 4 month vaccinations.  Noah cried more this time than he did at 2 months, but thankfully he fell asleep in the car drinking a bottle and has been asleep since.

Sleep:   Noah is doing great with sleeping.  Normally he goes to sleep between 9 and 10 and wakes up between 6 and 7 :)  Tuesday night he fell asleep at 6:30 pm and didn't wake up until 6:30 the next morning!  We were shocked!

Clothes: Some 3-6 and some 6-12.

Social On Sunday we went over to the Flinns for dinner.  He showed off all his new skills (holding his head up, grabbing things, and lifting his head when he's on his stomach).

On Tuesday, Noah and I met two of my old co-workers, Jill and Nancy, for lunch.

Diet: All formula.   The doctor told us to start him on rice cereal and then try out different grains every 3-5 days.  He said after 2 weeks we can introduce vegetables and then fruits.

Baby Gear Love:   Now that we've moved the swing so that it goes back and forth and sitting more upright, Noah has a new love for his swing.  It's great cause it lets me get some stuff done and if he's a little tired it will put him to sleep :)

Crying:  Noah is usually a very happy baby but when he is tired, he can change on a dime very quickly.

Likes:   Noah has this thing where he loves to kick off his blanket!  Without fail, you put a blanket on him and at first he tries to eat it, then he gets bored with that and within a a few minutes he has kicked it off!

He loves holding on to his rings and his blanket...

Milestones:  It seems crazy that I hadn't done it before, but Tuesday was the first time that Noah and I went out all by ourselves!  Until now, we always drove in the car with either my mom or Chris.  I was nervous about it because I was worried he might cry the whole way, but we did great!

Noah is getting so much better at holding his head up during tummy time.  Now when he wakes up from naps we find him like this...

Noah also sat in his Bumbo Chair for the first time this week.  It's so exciting to see him holding his head up now!

Noah has always enjoyed kicking the piano, but this week was the first time he started grabbing at the toys!

Postpartum:   I went and got my hair colored for the first time since I found out I was pregnant.  It was nice to have a couple of hours on my own to be pampered.   When watching the Oscars Pre-Show I really liked Giuliana Rancic's new haircut.  I hadn't told anyone, but I brought the picture to show my hairdresser saying I wanted that length.  After it was cut I sent Chris a picture of it and no joke, he responded "Cute... Did you copy Giuliana? LOL".  Man, my husband is so smart!

    Happy 17 Weeks Noah!
