An Amazing Weekend!

This weekend was great... all I can really say to sum it up. It started out as a normal weekend, Chris and I just hung out and watched the Olympics Friday night, and Saturday we were planning to go to dinner with my parents to celebrate my birthday (since I'd be in Pittsburgh for work on my actual birthday). But Saturday morning, before I was about to leave for work, I decided to check to see if for some reason my CPA - Regulation score was posted. I didn't tell Chris I was even looking, but when I saw my score was posted, and that I had passed... I freaked out and just started yelling, "I PASSED!!!". I immediately had to call my mom and tell her and my dad the great news. It's so exciting because this is the 4th and last part that I had to pass in order to finally become a CPA. I passed my first exam in October 2008 and you have 18 months to pass all of them before you start losing credit. It's been a long journey and required a lot of hard work.

So now my birthday dinner turned into a celebration of me passing the CPA exam! It made my day and weekend so much better because it means I don't need to spend the month of May studying for the exam again and I can breathe a sigh of relief!

At Ruth's Chris celebrating my birthday and me becoming a CPA!

Now we are watching the USA vs. Canada Hockey Game and Chris is cheering for USA and my parents and I are cheering for Canada! So if Canada wins this will definitely be the PERFECT weekend!

Valentine's Day

Chris and I were just having the discussion tonight whether to consider this as our first or second Valentine's Day. See our first date was on February 7, 2009. So yes, we were dating but since it would have been our second date we both consciously decided not to go out on actual Valentine's Day and to instead go out on the Sunday, February 15th.

So this year for Valentine's Day we went to see the movie "Valentine's Day" on the Saturday night, and then Sunday night we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Warren, Alfie's. Dinner was great, we had the amazing calamari appetizer and I had heart shaped lobster ravioli! We even got Cold Stone on the way home... even though it was REALLY cold out.

I hope everyone had an amazing Valentine's Day! I love you Chris!

One Year

Guest entry from Chris....

Hard to believe, but our one year anniversary was this past weekend. Since it fell on Super Bowl Sunday, we decided to re-enact our first date by going to dinner at McCormick and Schmick's in Bridgewater, and then going to see a movie on the Saturday night.

We caught the movie When In Rome. Meghan definitely liked it more than me. It is what it is! After dinner, we headed back to Morristown to hang out and watch a little tv before bed. Once the clock struck midnight, we exchanged anniversary gifts. I gave Meghan earrings from Tiffany's, and in return, she gave me a nice hardcover book of some of our engagement photos, and a Nintendo Wii. I definitely didn't expect that, so it was a very welcomed surprise. Now I just have to figure out which games to get, and which second controller to get. It will be fun to play the Wii on my big screen Samsung tv. I will probably have to remind people to put the strap around their wrists or else the controller will go flying through the tv like I've seen on some YouTube clips!

Sunday morning we woke up and headed over to Crate and Barrel to register for our wedding. We zipped around the store in an hour added a bunch of things to our registry. Their computer system seemed to have a meltdown and both our names and registry number was not showing up in the registry list, so they said they'd correct it in 24 hours. They gave us the infamous "Wow, we've never seen that before!" line. We then hit Macy's to check out some things for the registry, and then we headed over to my parents house to have lunch with them. Once we left their house, we hit the Short Hills mall to register at Pottery Barn and check out a few other stores, and then we ended our day by heading back to Meghan's parents house for the Super Bowl pre-game food and beverages.

As for the game, I was dreading a blowout once it was 10-0 Colts, and they posted a note on the screen that read "The biggest comeback ever in the Super Bowl is 10 points". Interestingly enough, the Colts barely did anything else for the rest of the game, and the Saints shocked them, 31-17. We had a fun time watching the game, and a little after the game ended, I headed back to Morristown to catch the new show Undercover Boss and then head to bed.

The end.

Chris' Birthday Present!

I just realized that I hadn't posted since the beginning of January... and since today is February (can you believe it!) I figured I better post again.

So Chris' 32nd Birthday was on December 30th... but my birthday gift to him was tickets to a Rangers game that was on January 17th. So 2 weeks ago we went into the city to see the Ranger play the Canadiens at MSG. We have this joke that every time I go into the city, that it's some sort of bad weather... whether it's rain, snow, freezing cold, or even a heat spell in the summer. So this trip of course was no different, it was VERY cold, windy, and raining... and Chris wonders why I'm not fond of going into the city for work lol.

Well the game was great. The Canadiens scored 2 goals in the first period, and we were a little worried, but in the next 2 periods the Rangers came back and beat them 6-2! All the goals seemed to be scored at our end of the ice, so that was great and there were tons of fights!!!

We asked a friendly Canadien fan behind us to take our picture... great job!

This was right after the game when the Rangers were celebrating the victory.
